All the sudden you're in the distant past. You're in the Roman Coliseum, being pushed towards the arena to fight an experienced looking gladiator armed with a large sword and some simple armor. Their is no escape, you must fight and win or die. You are given two options on how you will be armed.
Option 1. A pointy trident, Small Barbed Dagger, a Net, and some shoulder armor.
Option 2. A regular sword, small shield, and a helmet (Your face and neck are exposed).
Which option do you pick before you're thrown in the arena? Why? Do you think you'll survive?

6 Replies in this Sub-ThreadA shield is probably the most effective form of protection from melee attacks. with a regular sword, you're good to go. Not much you can do with a trident and a small dagger.

Perhaps, but you can keep him at bay with the long reach of the trident while you pull the net back.

Edited by Mash: 2/5/2013 7:20:00 AMI doubt you'll have the opportunity to multi task that. You'd be concentrating on the net while your triden arm is vulnerable. A small nock to the side with from his sword and you're defenceless.
