All the sudden you're in the distant past. You're in the Roman Coliseum, being pushed towards the arena to fight an experienced looking gladiator armed with a large sword and some simple armor. Their is no escape, you must fight and win or die. You are given two options on how you will be armed.
Option 1. A pointy trident, Small Barbed Dagger, a Net, and some shoulder armor.
Option 2. A regular sword, small shield, and a helmet (Your face and neck are exposed).
Which option do you pick before you're thrown in the arena? Why? Do you think you'll survive?

5 Replies in this Sub-ThreadFun fact: it was rare for Gladiators to die in the arena, so I would put on a show to entertain the crowd and then get some ancient medical advice.

Edited by Emperor Bell: 2/5/2013 6:20:54 AMWell, if the Emperor wanted one of us dead and the sponsors couldn't argue, I'd go for option 2, so I could have a shield. EDIT: failed

Who said anything about an Emperor? It's a hypothetical. But the Emperor has agreed to spare you and return you to your time if you kill the man in front of you. K?
