You know, there is a reason why the super star in mario games only lasts for a couple seconds and not infinitely. Just because they are single player games does not mean they should throw balance out the window.

  • It means there should be the option to throw balance out the window and play it how you want. In a single player game, there isn't an enemy team that is getting mad because they're getting killed by people underneath the map. If my friends and I have fun playing the game a "cheap" way, we should be able to; just like others can play the game in a challenging way if they want to. It shouldn't force you to play a certain way.

Just because you would rather everything be stupidly easy doesn't mean others do. The developers try to keep things balanced so things are challenging and enjoyable, just because an item is of "legendary" quality does not mean it deserves to be able to one shot every boss in the game. If your looking for a game where spending a few hours farming for items means you deserve god powers, borderlands 2 isn't the right game for you.

  • You're making assumptions. All I've been saying is that removing the option of having overpowered guns just cuts out a good bit of their fan base. Why do you think Borderlands had so many modded guns? Because it added some variety and another option of how to play the game. No one is forced to use overpowered guns. It's also a game based around hunting Vaults, weapons that shoot acid and lightning, and fighting skyscraper-sized monsters, while watching cutscenes similar to comic books. What part of Borderlands says, "This is a serious game with a deep, emotional story. It is not a ridiculous, hilarious, and fun game made to be played in a silly manner."?

  • None of it, but what part about it says game balance shouldn't exist? Why do I have to work and level up to get a better character and If I do something stupid that gets me killed, why does it penalize me by taking cash? Its called game balance. If a gun that does millions of damage we're to ever be intentional added, in order to balance it out, they would make you go through hell to get it.
