Not saying that they're going to put the reveal in the super bowl, but Activision has tons of money, and now that they're partnered with the company that created Halo, I'm pretty sure they're going to give them a lot of resources. I honestly don't know much about the gaming industry, that's just speculation.

Edited by Vicex: 2/3/2013 8:13:38 PMBut it's way too early to advertise it, they would just be throwing cash at a wall. There are certain times to advertise, it can't be too early, and it can't be too late. If they did it now, the vast majority of the target audience would quickly forget about it since, as I said, the game is likely many months away from release. It would be much more realistic to see an announcement in mid spring, followed up by a slowly increasing release of ads into the summer and the game's (tentative) release date.

What is too early to advertise? It's called a reveal, not a release trailer. They do it all the time. Bungie has probably been working on this game for over 2 years. So many game get revealed many months before release. Just look at Bioschock Infinite.

Edited by Vicex: 2/3/2013 8:31:20 PMIt's still much too early to spend that sort of money on a simple reveal that most will forget about. Activision isn't stupid. They won't spend ~4 Million USD on a 30 second spot.

Gamers - their target audience, wouldn't forget about it.

Gamers - their target audience, wouldn't forget about it.

Sure they would. Just like I see movies, and I forget about upcoming movies. It was simply too early to spend that sort of money on an ad. Common Sense 101.

Edited by halo: 2/4/2013 8:59:04 PMNo they wouldn't. I'm almost to the point of casual and I wouldn't. Neither would a lot of other gamers.

You have no idea about basic psychology then.
-
Yeah I do. Obviously you don't.
-
You have no idea, truly. People have much more important things to take up thier mind than a game months in the future, spending 4 Million USD on a 30 second spot would be a waste of money and Bungie/Activsion know it, hence the no Destiny announcement at the Super Bowel. Learn2criticallythink, prat.
-
Dude you need to learn to critically think. People who normally play video games don't have that many important things on their mind that they would forget such a huge release. They aren't marketing this to CEO's of multi-million dollar companies. lrn2memory

Not at all true.
-
And Activision?
-
Edited by Vicex: 2/3/2013 8:00:14 PMI don't see them spending that type of cash when the release date is many months away, it's simply too early to start advertising on that scale as most will forget about it quickly.

Entirely reasonable.
