Depends whether it is first or third person. First person perspective, customization is basically irrelevant since you rarely see your character model. For third person, yeah it matters to me.

Real life is first person as well, and yet we still customize ourselves.

I would disagree, kind sir. If there is a theater mode, my looks must be above and beyond for my ensuing photoshoots.

I'm hoping it's first person with 3rd person animation - think assasinations in Reach. In that case customization matters.
