  • Do you like it so far? I am still deciding between a Music Education major and a Computer Science major.

  • Computer Science is pure problem solving, everything I do is like a puzzle, and seeing your creations come to life is extremely gratifying. Creation is Immaculate! If you have the knack for it, I highly reccommend it. Not to talk smack about Music Education, but it's well known that Computer Science is a field that is growing quickly and isn't going anywhere fast, there are jobs everywhere for it, and I'm not sure the same can be said for Music Education.

  • I really enjoy music, but I also like pretty much everything with computers. I have taken 7 years of music in school, and have tried to teach myself python but have no time due to sports after school. The amount of jobs available plays a big part in my decision. The seemingly innumerable amount of jobs is what draws me to it, along with the problem solving, and creating my own things aspect. What is the highest level math course, among other courses, that you need to get a Computer Science degree?

  • I'd double check at whatever school you plan to get a degree at, but at Western Washington University, we need up to the first level of Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics. Honestly though, once you master Algebra, the rest of those classes are more or less just problem solving and basic memorization, they aren't terribly as difficult as gaining an intuition about how to solve algebraic problems, that takes a ton of experience before it becomes second nature.

  • Will do. Thanks for the help, and good luck with the rest of your studies.
