I think God exists. God made us to take care of ourselves. God wants to see if we can save the starving children. We started the starvation and we can stop it. ITS OUR FAULT NOT HIS!!!

But he, the author of the entire universe, has the power to stop it. To sit idly by while he could fix it at the snap of a finger is irresponsible, and does not indicate that he is a loving or all-powerful deity.

According to Christianity, he was perfectly fine with us being 'perfect' beings free of famine and the problems that plague the world today - but because Eve went against his orders (heh, authoritarian) and ate the apple which, judging by its effects, allowed her to think for herself and become aware of things, and as a result God inflicts great pain upon humanity for disobeying him. Being the all-powerful, all-knowing being he is, why didn't he know that Adam and Eve would succumb to temptation? The fact that this happened at all shows that God is an imperfect creator. Plus, he's a bit of a prick for killing everyone with a great flood because he deemed them to be "corrupt". Why couldn't he persuade them to be gentle and fair to one-another? What kind of moral does this story teach young children who are being indoctrinated into the Christian faith? Seems to be a lot of killing "sinners" in the Bible, but "we don't do that anymore" because we understand it's barbaric and immoral - this is not something religion has taught us, our nature is the product of generations and generations of rational, reasoned argument and debate, not the command of an all-powerful God who is technically to blame for the cause of 'original sin' anyway.

I never really understood the whole "Eve eating the apple = all humans are sinful" thing. The sins of my father are not my own. Why does it matter what Eve did, and why should I be punished for it? I shouldn't have to seek salvation and forgiveness for something I didn't do...

Hey, it's all good. All you have to do is, every Sunday, go to church and beg for forgiveness for your sins - whether you did them or not. Make sure you go, those who break the Sabbath are to be VIOLENTLY MURDERED with stones by order of God. But they deserve it because they weren't begging for forgiveness, there was this one bloke COLLECTING STICKS - can you imagine? Oh, but make sure you don't go praying to any other god, because the "jealous" God will determine your fate. Urgh, the concept of being born in sin is so utterly ridiculous and stupid... Surely this means that sin originates from God, since he placed the tree in the Garden of Eden in the first place? And it just so conveniently happened that Satan was in the Garden of Eden too. Wonder how he got in... Did God leave the side door open when he left? Why didn't God, the all-powerful, all-knowing being, see that Satan was present? He'd be pretty familiar with him after the War in Heaven. And if he ignored him as a test for his creations, a test which we "failed", then how is he any better than Victor Frankenstein or Josef Mengele for loathing and attempting to end his experiment? What about that makes him a "loving" God?
