Yes, He does exist. I believe so with almost 100% certainty.
I am Roman Catholic.
BTW, to anyone that calls religion a delusion, a fairy-tale, illogical, or anything of such nature, is being extremely offensive to all religious people. Keep that insulting rubbish to yourselves, and actually try to show a little respect to the theists on these forums.

You have flat out admitted your religious beliefs are fundamentally grounded in illogical concepts, so the idea you woulds somehow get offended at the idea of somebody proclaiming you to have illogical metaphysical beliefs doesn't make sense. Also, arguing that religion is a delusion shouldn't offend you. It's the equivalent of saying "I don't think religion is right."
-
This post is from January. But in any case, I still have no respect for those who can't show respect to others. And calling religion a 'fairy-tale' is certainly an example of a person who can only be condescending and disrespectful.
-
Almost 100%, when there is quite literally nothing to suggest that a God, of any religion, of any kind, exists? Well done.
-
That's why Religion is based on faith.
-
That's why I'm an atheist

It amazes me how some people just can't handle the fact that someone believes something they don't. These replies are a huge display of immaturity and intolerance.
-
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
-
Religion is illogical, that's a mere fact of life. What's your political views?
-
What's your political views?
I'm in favour of socialist policies such as government funded healthcare, I'm for gay marriage, and I am extremely against abortion and anyone who supports it. Does that help?
-
The Catholic stance on gay marriage, and homosexual relations at all, are very clear - though the Pope made his double-standards rather clear where he defended his paedophile priests, yet blessed the disgusting people behind the 'Kill the Gays' bill in Uganda.
-
I do not think the Church should change it's stance on gay marriage. But the marriage laws of secular nations have nothing to do with the Catholic Church, and furthermore, the Catholic definition of marriage applies to the liturgical ceremony of marriage. A secular marriage is not liturgical nor is it related to the Church, so it doesn't matter who gets married under it, as it is an entirely different definition of the word.
-
According to the true bible then, you're a heretic.
-
How? You need to kind of back up ridiculous claims, not just make them with no support for your case.
-
How ironic.
-
I greatly appreciate the irony.

You must kill those who worship another god. Exodus 22:20 Kill any friends or family that worship a god that is different than your own. Deuteronomy 13:6-10 Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find people that worship differently than you. Deuteronomy 13:12-16 Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7 Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest. Deuteronomy 17:12-13 Kill any false prophets. Deuteronomy 18:20 Any city that doesn’t receive the followers of Jesus will be destroyed in a manner even more savage than that of Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 6:11 Jude reminds us that God destroys those who don’t believe in him. Jude 5 Don’t associate with non-Christians. Don’t receive them into your house or even exchange greeting with them. 2 John 1:10 Shun those who disagree with your religious views. Romans 16:17 Paul, knowing that their faith would crumble if subjected to free and critical inquiry, tells his followers to avoid philosophy. Colossians 2:8 Whoever denies “that Jesus is the Christ” is a liar and an anti-Christ. 1 John 2:22 Christians are “of God;” everyone else is wicked. 1 John 5:19 The non-Christian is “a deceiver and an anti-Christ” 2 John 1:7 Anyone who doesn’t share Paul’s beliefs has “an evil heart.” Hebrews 3:12 False Jews are members of “the synagogue of Satan.” Revelations 2:9, 3:9 Everyone will have to worship Jesus -- whether they want to or not. Philippians 2:10 A Christian can not be accused of any wrongdoing. Romans 8:33 The new testament isn't the true bible, it's a mere sham by the church to cover over the 'nasty' (see: true Christianity) bits of the Old Testament.
-
99% of Christian don't believe everything in the bible. Therefore your point is irrelevant.
-
As somebody who finds max's arguments to be consistently lacking on the subject of religion (or most related subjects), I think this post demonstrates either a lack of understanding of the scripture cited or a profound intellectual dishonesty. For one thing, the idea that the Jewish scriptures are somehow more 'true Christianity' than the specifically Christian ones is ridiculous.
-
You know nothing of the Bible, and what you are doing is taking a bunch of non-literal passages out of context to prove an invalid point. That is quite intellectually dishonest. And you sir, are a fine example of why religion was once a barred topic on the mains, as are all your offensive atheist friends.
-
Edited by Winy: 1/13/2013 4:17:20 PMOh, please, your excuse for this type of thing is always an arbitrary assigning of non-literal intent, despite the respective passages being blatantly straight-foreword. Once you can actually give a logical non-literal interpretation of "Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest," then I might listen. If you honestly believe this is well-constructed literary subtlety, you need to take an English course.
-
And winy shits all over max yet again. But you've also got a point. In what context does "Listen to the church or die" become acceptable and non literal? I'd love to hear this.
-
Edited by GT Stryker: 1/13/2013 3:20:43 AMWhat does it all mean then? What is your context? He isn't being offensive at all, he's responding to you. You know, remember your "ridiculous claims" comment? Funny how he's labeled as "offensive" when he provides facts that you asked for.
-
Edited by Capiton Render: 1/11/2013 1:10:20 PMI dont insult the people, but the religion itself, so know i have to worry about hurting the feelings of an ideology?
-
If you insult groups that people are part of, generally that will offend the people who are part of that group.
