I absolutely love this new layout. It's gearing away from a community segregated by forum sections and more about a social network. Connecting all Bungie fans old and new in something wayyy more streamlined and interconnected. If anything I think this shows us the mindset Bungie is in when developing Destiny. So freaking cool.

NECROBUMP OUT OF NOWHERE!

I wonder if you had any idea that you'd be working for Bungie just a few months later when you posted this :P P.S I'm not stalking you, I promise! LOL
-
Forums were always a form of social networking. ;)
-
Technically it's Bungie.now ;)
-
It amuses me how many people say that they came to Bungie.net "because it's not a social network" or "to escape the social networks." You are seriously deluded. Wake up, guys. Online forums are the ORIGINAL online social networking format. Bungie.net and all other forums are social networks, through and through. Moreover, you don't have to participate in any form of social networking if you don't want to. All Bungie.next does is take the forum format and make the social networking aspect of it easier. If you want to participate anonymously in discussions or lurk around without ever posting, feel free! If you want to get more involved in this community, now you can do so to an even greater extent than previously.
-
I personally think it's fantastic, it really feels like it's gearing itself for more interconnectivity between fans. There is a lot of things that I have yet to understand. Can't wait to see how they are going to use this website for their next game.
-
Well, looks like it's what they were going for. Destiny is a shared world shooter with huge social interactions. I welcome BNext as the home for many awesome stories and experiences!
-
I kinda have to agree that I totally love this new set up.
-
I came to bungie.net because it was different from all the other forums. I still like it, but it's just not as different as it once was.
-
But, I come here to escape the huge social networks. Makes me worried regarding Destiny, as maybe they would make it more streamlined and such.
-
>more like a social network >implying that is a desirable thing If this is any indicator of Bungies next came, you can be sure I won't be buying it. I thought Bungie was something different in the video game industry, and corporate world at large.
-
Exactly why it's a piece of sh1t.
-
It can be what ever you want it to be.
-
I'm thinking it's kinda failing at both at the moment. Hopefully when the beta is done it'll surpass both.
-
Connecting all Bungie fans old and new in something wayyy more streamlined and interconnected.
Well said. Although the addition of navigating through hashtags is questionable at best, I feel as though Bungie really nailed this long-needed update on the head as far as design and functionality goes. Feels much more like an integrated community than the separate factions that existed previously through the sub-forums.
-
Shhhh... Don't use the SN words around these parts. Besides, it's definitely still a forum, but inspired by social networks. It's different, thats for sure. It will take some getting used to, but once everyone familiarises themselves with how the new forum works i think it will be better than ever.

I dont like the new layout
-
Agree 100%
-
Excuse me, but I liked the healthy dose of social hierarchy. Another thing that bothers me is that threads stay up by getting likes, instead of the thread staying up by people engaging in discussion.
-
I like it but, for some reason, I feel a much smaller incentive to actually post anything. I'd prefer it if we could just go back to the old forum.
-
I actually like the new design also. Much more sleek. Sure it may take a little longer to get use to but I am sure there is more changes coming but right now I am satisfied with what we have seen so far.
-
a lot of people (me included) liked the site because of the forums with seperate communities and attitudes. this is a mess of random crap, and i came here because it wasnt like that, and i left facebook because it was. I am not waiting for the next update that will hopefully fix this broken toy.

One of the last true message boards. Looks like the 90s-10s are over, guys...
-
I liked Bungie because it was nice and distanced from social networking. And now this.
