I think we should just enact strict licenses on guns, but open up the market to deadlier guns as a compromise. If you really are passionate towards guns, you wouldn't mind going through combat training and psychological testing to prove your ability (and to shake off the "noobs" and criminals). And as compensation, they (those passionate, skilled, and proven) can purchase bigger, more military oriented weapons.

  • Already can. fifty caliber firearms are the highest you can go until you reach cannon status. Then you have to start getting federal licenses and opening yourself up to checks every now and then.

    You can own an automatic made before 1986. http://www.ehow.com/how_4454981_buy-automatic-weapon.html You can also buy a new one. It comes with a boatload of checks though, unlike buying a semi-auto ranch gun.
