There is nothing wrong with allowing someone you know and trust to shoot your gun. As long as you are there instructing them, and teaching them there is nothing wrong with it at all. You are looking for a way to nit pick Lonepaul. Get off your limey high horse and if you have nothing useful to add to the discussion at hand, don't say anything at all.

We're good friends with our neighbors; I came over to check it out, he asked if I wanted to shoot it, I said, "Sure!" and he let me fire a few rounds. It was a completely safe environment. No one around, he has a gigantic yard, we had a target set up about 50 yards away, and the only thing beyond it was a hill another 100 yards away. Everyone stood behind the shooter and the person holding the gun always took great care to ensure he wasn't pointing it at anyone and the safety was always on.
