I'd wager most people are using their reading skills and basic mathematical skills, on a daily basis.

Those are obvious, I was talking more about advanced levels of mathematics and science. And also your personal use for them.

Does geometry and physics count? Physics is used almost daily by most adults, whether they know it or not. Driving a car involves a lot of physics (although people may not be aware of it). Merging properly, backing into a spot, timing a yellow light; all involve some basic sort of knowledge of time and speed. Geometry as well. Playing pool, billiards, mini golf all require an understanding of geometry.
