All my characters in destiny 1 have been deleted after a black screen

Me and a teammate were playing a destiny 1 strike, we got a black screen and once we loaded in, all out characters that I have spent a decade on have been deleted and wiped, with a character creation screen

I lost my character under similar circumstances. Does anyone have a way to contact bungie to find out what is going on?
