The time has come. we need a Destiny 3. Its no secret D2 was kinda rushed, and ever since it came out it feels like they where trying to hold the game together. Some additions were great, some were...not so good. But it was all attached to a core that was falling apart since launch.
I think we need a Destiny 3 for a few reasons, first, the game is far too bloated right now. so much stuff is going on and has gone on it feels like we cannot catch a breather. Second, the game also feels hollow. Patrols are boring and almost entirely pointless, Pvp hasnt gotten much love in years, and strikes feel bleh.
I think it would b amazing if they released a big even where we die at the end (our guardian...the guardian). we could then set D3 some time in the future, maybe a few hundred to a thousand years, and that way the new game would feel fresh. We would see how the world changes and actually explore again, unlike now. We could see how characters develop, maybe the coalition of light forms the federation of sol or something, a new united civilization.
Theres plenty of material for a D3 that feels like it would be too big for d2, like retaking Torabatl, learning the nature of the Traveler, learning more about the Winnower and Gardener, how the Ahamkara hatchling will turn out, healing the dreaming city, healing the Traveler. Seeing how our legacy shaped the world.
It would also give the community and devs time to breath, to make something deep, not just surface level stuff. Currently we get almost the same thing in almost the same places over and over. Players and devs are getting fatigued and frustrated.
I love Destiny, and i want more. I think alot of people crave more destiny...just not more Destiny 2. I think its time for the next chapter.
Give the players, devs, and world room to breath, and to grow.

14 RepliesThe only thing I feel they would need to really do to make d3 is to build a new engine for it. Over the last few years the tiger engine has shown its age due to the difficulty of adding new mechanics and abilities.

2 RepliesYeah lay d2 to rest have a break and introduce d3 🤷🏼♂️

1 ReplyEdited by WAR: 12/9/2025 12:20:12 PMNah in order for them to do that sony need to get rid of all these dipshits over at Bungie headquarters and replace them on all new capable people that don't lack common sense and don't play favoritism to one character cough cough (Hunters) and they need a whole new dedicated servers, otherwise just let the game die or at least sell the IP to more capable company.

How would they get to breathe? You're asking for a 5-6 year build, thats 800 Devs on minimum 100k a year, for 5-6 years, with no income (studio rent is around 100m a year in Seattle). So they'd still need to support D2, & marathon, 2 giant games that need constant maintenance & content. Sony will never bankroll a 6 year build for a burned franchise, from a company they've little to no confidence in anymore - the guy who authorized the purchase was laid off a year later, alongside his easy money live service place - in the hope that people forget destiny's a tainted franchise & bungie is a tainted brand, & they whip up a banger that kills Fortnite? Coz it would need too. The Devs are also openly tired of destiny, going back 5-6 years ago they wanted out, & they tried to properly kill the franchise with lightfall as per ex community managers revealing on twitter. I'd be really surprised if we get more than 18 months content , from now. We may get another year, it'll be less than this year, then I believe we end, if not sooner.

So like who you gonna pay or find to make a d3 because I'm telling you right now if it's bungie, like the bungie we have now, there will be no pvp or at least good pvp. Also it will be like d2 at launch how d2 felt like d1, in this case d3 will be like d2. Honestly I'm not trying to hate but a lot of factors need to take place before this can even be considered. The biggest one being bungie needs to be removed entirely or else the game will be exactly the same... oh but on a better engine at least, yeah that will fix everything supposedly. People just need to face the facts and move on, I know it's hard but the game isn't gonna last forever. Yeah so what if there is nothing out there like destiny? Well the truth is there is, in fact there are better ganes out there because other companies have evolved and learned from the mistakes of others. Just saying.

Bungie are one major flop from being shut down they haven't got the devs or money for destiny 3 plus Sony would never go for it considering how D2 has been performing.
-
Not developed by bungo

1 ReplyDestiny 3 from a company that actually cares about the game? Sure. Destiny 3 from Bungie? No.
-
People who developed and create Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 isn't with Bungie anymore. Destiny 3 will be disaster.

We need a gambling game with gooner skins
