i was recently playing portal activities and i think the game beacome too sweaty to even have fun casualy with friends without having to cut a good bunch of your rewards especialy when you are in late game, i really despize the fact that if you go a high power level you are required to do only absurd levels of ranking in the portal activity to earn the good ammount of loot, which i think its like the game tells you that its time to quit since you have to do so hard challenges to earn the proper loot its better to just not scale your power level, i was doing ultimate difficulty and seeing the fact that you can no longer keep your revives after the timer is just bad design, there was a way to change to extinction for a reason, why in the hell we need to worry about the timer if there is also pressure cooker to chose if you wana increase the rewards, i genuely think that it just kills the point of having fun and casualy play with your friends and just tells you you gota sweat from now on if you wana keep geting the proper rewards, genuely i think bungie keeps doing bad choices and there is no point for me to do portal activities, i did buy renegades tho and i do hope i will not get the same treatment as what happened now in portal, i want to casualy have a good time, and have to sweat only if i want to and not always, its quite obvious most players left if you keep geting rid of the casual play and replace it with lazy try hard challenges for no reason, so please stop geting rid of revives for no reason, no one asked for this and it was better when it got removed on ultimate difficulty

14 RepliesIf you want a healthy game… cater to casuals… building a game for sweaties is a recipe for disaster

2 RepliesThey want us watching streamers rather than playing. Such a bizarre business strategy.

Edited by a lost tenno: 12/7/2025 2:47:18 PMWdym, I spam RB and RT and occasionally hold X, then press Y and hold it, and win the game Is easy until -30 power deltas though. DR builds have no meaning there

1 ReplyEdited by Bobargus: 12/7/2025 2:05:12 PMI agree. The game is not casual friendly enough. Not casual friendly at all. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/264984936

5 RepliesI guess the use of PARAGRAPHS is no longer a thing. 🙄

The only difference in rewards is the level at which they drop. Run the activity at a lower difficulty with easier modifyers. Power means very little at your level.

1 ReplyMost of the content has different levels, set it to a lower level like Expert if you want a casual play experience. Problem solved.

I want my bounties back.....

I didn’t read that wall of text but I do agree with your title. As a solo casual I play less than before simply because of the lack of matchmaking. Not a good business model.
-
3 RepliesMy problem is I’m sick of always having to play ultimate mode. Playing at -30 constantly just isn’t fun. Thats why I hate the tiered system because with old loot you got your roll then you could upgrade it. Now it’s t5 or bust.
-
Could not agree with you more. I just made a post in feedback about the same thing, but also about how ridiculously hard/un-fun the new solo op is. The more people who put pressure on Bungie for this, the more they'll be forced to listen. It's probably too big a change to happen any time soon, but hopefully by the next expansion. Being forced to play ultimate in everything, losing revives, too few revives, scoring in general - all these need to be addressed or just plain removed.

Totally agree they have removed all fun for the casuals, how hard is it to have 3 or 4 levels of game play? Give the casuals a chance to earn gear even if it is like 1 or 2 pieces per event then let the elite earn 10 pieces by cranking it to the max. I have always been ok with it before the top players earning everything in the first few days while i take a while but now its just extreme. Was doing vanguard ops this morning the number of team wipes was crazy no wonder the numbers are dropping still. Bungo listen to your players create a game for the casuals and the elite, it isn't that freaking hard! My game time has gone from 3 or 4 hours a day to somedays just an hour because i get frustrated with it

4 RepliesTL;DR The power handicap makes high level activities and, consequently, the power grind meaningless. I mean, what's the point of grinding for the god roll gun if it comes with a handicap? RNG with casual and bad builds jsut makes it worse. Unless you are playing with top tier build friends regularly, it's pointless. I am abandoning activities constantly because players with zero skills and wrong builds die in first 10 seconds and use up the revives.

4 RepliesEdited by TripleF73: 12/6/2025 6:19:07 AM
I was recently playing portal activities and I think the game has become too sweaty to even have fun casually with friends. There is a way to change the modifier to extinction for a reason, why in the hell do we need to worry about the timer, if there is also pressure cooker modifier to chose if you want to increase the rewards?? I genuinely think that it just kills the point of having fun and casually play with your friends and Bungie is just telling you that you gotta sweat from now on if you wanna keep geting the proper rewards. Genuinely I think bungie keeps making bad choices and there is no point for me to do portal activities. I did buy renegades though and I do hope I will not get the same treatment as what currently happens now in portal in the Lawless Frontier. I just want to have a good time, and have to sweat only if i want to and not all the time. It’s quite obvious most players left because you keep geting rid of the casual play and replace it with lazy try hard challenges for no reason. I haven’t fixed all the grammar, however I have changed some words here and there to make it flow better. Your points are valid and those that disagree with you will use your presentation as an excuse to dismiss your opinion. I agree with you. Playing on -30 constantly is tedious. This is from someone who enjoyed -50 Hypernet and Avalon Conquests.

Destiny’s worst ever player approves of this post. I am way out of my league at 512 power, playing stuff I can’t cope with and can’t enjoy at all.
-
Punctuation matters. Make it look like your words were chosen with purpose and people may actually read it.

Out of curiosity, if the light level system were removed and replaced with the Guardian Ranks (with appropriate challenges for each rank level), would this help make the game more casual again?
-
Holy wall of text!
-
Wall of text. I'm sure you have a good point, but that is not the way to entice ppl to engage. Unless yer all WikWokers 😏

I think if destiny 2 makes world loot tiered, then I think casual playing would make a comeback. Don’t get me wrong I love destiny 2 but just a suggestion. Also bringing back activities like more crucible modes per week, would be huge. Making old weapons like rose and igneous hammer farmable again would bring back all of the pvp players. For example putting rumble back into the portal or a good farmable weapon like rose and deadlocked back into the comp playlists. Just a few ideas!! Lmk what yall think

30 RepliesEdited by C0LONEL MUSTANG: 12/5/2025 6:56:19 PMI disagree with your title. If, as you mention, the point is having fun with your friends...then why bother even engaging with the activities in the Portal? If you wanna be "casual" anyway, do you really need those specific rewards or to play certain activities? If the point is having fun with your friends, isn't THAT enough of a "reward"? In these types of games, one can't seriously expect to be rewarded without doing something a bit challenging...right? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. If your concern is with the difficulty or balancing of the content you're engaging with, then that's a bit of a different conversation. One that I won't have much insight on because I actually am a F2P casual lol.
Kind regards, The Patroller
