I don’t understand how FOMO affects adults. I see it having an impact on kids though. I play what I want to play. If there’s a weapon I really want, then I play the activity to grind it. I haven’t finished part two and three of this Episode. I know it’s there and I’ll get done at one point but I don’t feel like I have to. I guess it’s self control and perspective.

  • FOMO is pretty common, even in adults. It exists in one form or another in real life. I don't see why the digital medium would really change any of that.

  • Plain and simple adults are human just like kids.

  • Not really applicable seeing we are talking about adults acting like children. So there’s that.

  • Im with you on that. I honestly stopped caring about completing everything, and I just play what I enjoy playing. If there is a weapon that I am interested, I may play the associated activity to get it, but if that activity is not enjoyable, then I will scratch it off the list. Instead of focusing on the seasonal grind and activities, I often use my free time to try to solo GM's. That is what I am enjoying right now. Some arent very difficult, others need more time in refining builds and working out strategies for the run. When my buddies are on, we will run raids and activities that they want to get done. I started 3 weeks ago, wish I had started sooner. But, yeah, FOMO doesnt really have much influence on me anymore. I dislike it more than like it, especially for seasonal events. Where I feel that I have never gotten the roll of a weapon exactly how I wanted it to be, then the next year that it comes around, the perk pool is changed. I feel that it should be quest driven craftable weapon patterns for those events (even if the quest is long a tedious), but im sure that the RNGesus worshipers want random rolls instead.

  • Exactly! It’s a hobby and I really do enjoy it but I don’t care if I don’t have that one thing lol. I play D2 for the gunplay setting it’s truly unmatched. I’m playing more PVP these days and trying to improve there. The things I’ve avoided this episode can be done at any time over the next couple of months. If not no loss seeing I have an entire vault chock full of god rolls. I am looking forward to the DLC this summer and getting new armor etc.

  • I go in and out of playing PvP. I love Mayhem, and often try to search for weapons that synergize with my mayhem builds. Unfortunately, my ideal Mayhem weapon roll (Vouchsafe, with Surplus/Vorpal) was removed from the game when they refreshed the Dreaming City weapons. So I use the only Vorpal roll that I got in an early run of shattered throne (glad that I kept it despite the poor roll, ext barrel, tac mag, under pressure). I tend to run Nezarec Sin for Mayhem, and having a ranged lightweight void weapon with vorpal is my preference to use, since it allows me a bit more sprint speed to transition, and enough stopping power to deal with a roaming super when they push blindly. I dont have many friends who like to play PvP, and its not casual no matter the playlist. So, at times I dig in and play PvP for a few days, but then dont play for a couple weeks. Playing solo all the time in PvP can get a little tiresome, because I feel that I need to read what my team is doing as much if not more than the enemy is doing. I tend to like to search out interesting weapon combos, and run of meta a lot (usually dual primary). I know its a handicap, but its part of the game that I enjoy. For me, if I didnt have interest in PvP at all, my interest for 80% of the weapons in the game would go away. Most of the weapon searches that I have are for weapons to fill a niche in a build specifically for PvP. Which is why I am disappointed that so many weapons are not enhanceable, since in PvP being able to slap a ballistics mod on one weapon but not another, kind of makes that other one obsolete unless it is adept. Its a loss of 12 stat points, which could allow you to build into other aspects of the weapon (like handling) instead of needing to go into range... Im hoping that some of this is addressed with the update in summer, maybe let us choose MW or barrels with higher tiers??? Or bring back lower tiers as craftable with a slight stat handicap to high3er tiers???

  • I find it easy to log in and hop into matches at night. I have a few load outs saved so I can mix it up if I want. I don’t play super seriously but instead have fun. People forget games should be fun and get too wrapped up in everything but that. It’s kind of the point of having a hobby.
