only takes 30-45 minutes to complete a single activity, longer than most GMs? this isn't including Nightfall Ciphers or double loot reward weeks, which would give even more copies of a weapon guaranteed.
This is a joke, and is worse than tonics not giving a guaranteed reward upon consumption.

I'd argue adepts are pointless at this point. A fully crafted vs adept crafted is +1 to stats( I think) and I wouldn't use adept mods anyway the new mods are superior so what's the benefit? It can't just be is says "adept"
-
I made the same comment about shinies and expert onslaught wave 50 back when into the light launched. I got called entitled for it. That’s the kind of audience you’re preaching to right now. The nerve of someone to think they deserve to be rewarded for completing the hardest difficulty.
-
Just farm the first encounter
-
Comparing a Raid ENCOUNTER, to a full activity isn’t fair. Farming Templar is faster than most GMs. Hell it’s comparable to a fast strike in length.
-
Abusing the lord’s name like this is blasphemy
-
I mean, my buddy and I were farming a certain encounter on expert last night and we’re doing 3-5 minute runs. Even without them dropping every time, we got dozens of adepts and shiny guns. I was doing it solo, and was still finishing it in 10-15 minutes per run. Honestly, expert difficulty really isn’t much harder than normal in this mode. To be clear, I mean we were running three mini-encounters and killing one major boss - not completing all three areas.
-
Whats the point of adepts there anyways? Backup mag vs adept mag? Meh. Droprate sucks, no double traits...

Edited by D3FAULT3: 2/10/2025 2:02:23 AMThe Nether is a huge waste of time!! The activity is designed to keep you grinding and not drop adept weapons bc you will stop playing if you get them. Bungie believes FOMO will keep players grinding. I just attempted it and the boss tormentor destroyed us and I couldn't get a super the entire boss fight. My team mate got two supers and I didn't. It was so obvious the AI was -blam!- with my super. Instead of going up, the bar kept going down or it would not progress... Bungie is shady that way. I did get one GL adept with the worse perks ever, but did not finish the activity. We also did the first encounter on expert multiple times and never got an adept weapon. The weapons suck by the way. I will not play the expert activity again. So many players complaining about the nether and Bungie does not care. Every season I keep hoping this game will get better and Bungie keeps disappointing. I am so close to giving up on this game.
-
Bungie: because we respect your time.
-
and they wonder why people aren't playing
-
I always circle back to Bungie saying they want to respect our time and make us feel like it isn't being wasted. I understand they want to extend the grind so people don't complain about a lack of content right away, but implementing some sort of system, if even one guaranteed adept a week on expert, would alleviate this frustration. Doing an expert run and getting the same worthless rolls on the standard version weapons is just PAINFUL.

Edited by Dooodley: 2/9/2025 3:47:44 AMWhat's worse is that the Tome is not working at all. I've been focusing auto rifles the entire time and not once have I recieved an adept AR or even the majority of AR's. I've had like 20 adept swords and linear fusion rifles though - and a ton of them altogether. Not saying that we should expect adepts but one would think it would lean a certain way when focusing. Consipracy theory, when focusing theyre only using it to extend playtime. They know we're looking for something so that something is blocked.

Well you see these popular gamers that game all the time love the RNG and have all the time in the world to farm for whichever guns they desire, most people would probably benefit from interesting and innovative things like craft-able guns that would have no need for a gimmicky Adept that only the incredibly time-invested shall enjoy the god-roll of. Either direction cuts as a two-edge sword, however we all know whom Bungie is more likely to cater for. Oh no, did the RNG get to you? just pray to RNGesus my friend!
-
Because Bungie is the developer.
-
So the Nether is that short with multiple people, eh? I've only soloed a couple of times in the explore version and each time was over an hour. I guess I better gather some meatshields... I mean friends!
-
Yeah I’m not even going to bother with Expert lol
-
Edited by Ferus Lux: 2/8/2025 9:57:30 PMBecause it's a different mode and not as challenging as GM's. You have 10x more health, manual revives, no darkness zones, one champ type, less modifiers, and multiple chests as reward sources.
only takes 30-45 minutes to complete a single activity, longer than most GMs? Farming Master templar is MILES faster, as is any encounter in any raid This is a joke, and is worse than tonics not giving a guaranteed reward upon consumption.
Yeah, it’s a but annoying doing two runs and not getting a single adept let alone a double perk adept.
-
I just wish it was match making.. my clan are abit hit or miss at the best of times and sometime you just want to load into an activity. Because of the adepts, I don't see the point in doing the normal version now.
-
Hamster wheel
-
not 100% tonic drops is not the problem, the problem is adept not having double perks
-
I tried expert twice and got adept both times.
-
I did a run before the PSN went dark and got 3-4 Adept in one go. I thought that was a guaranteed drop.
-
I have a feeling they were hastily thrown together as with most things from Bungie recently. Otherwise they'd at least guarantee one upon completion, as for the tome of want that is basically useless if you want adept versions. Its just a joke as well that its only a chance an adept drops and then another chance on if its a "shiny" drop with runneth over and double perks. Like I wouldn't have an issue with this really if you were guaranteed at least one per completion.

Edited by DeathStroke: 2/9/2025 1:23:26 PMJust did this with a group of random guardians and got the same rewards as a regular match made version. At least in the match made version I’ve gotten pretty lucky with masterwork versions but not even having a single one of those drop in the Expert version was really disheartening. It’s just ridiculous that, we as a community, always have to beg or push them to reward us for time spent in the game. Every weapon that dropped in that expert run I mentioned earlier was deconstructed lol Edit: So after running 7 Experts in a row last night I got 2 regular Masterwork weapons with Runneth Over, 1 regular masterwork with one intrinsic perk, 2 Masterwork Adept with Runneth over, 4 regular Adept, one intrinsic perk. Rest of drops was regular weapon drops. None were the grenade launcher I wanted and all had undesirable perks. Conclusion: Just run the Expert version and ignore the regular version. You still get weapons with the chance at the masterwork adept. I don't mind the chase for the weapons. Even though I didn't get what I wanted, the loot is dropping and I'll get it eventually. Like with the Brave Weapons. Also tonics for weapons from last season work in the activity so if you are still missing those, can double farm for rolls
