This is also unhelpful due to the issue i have. the drifter event tab is blank.

Brother... i get that xur has a quest. I don't have access to xurs quest because i do not have the original quest. the drifters event tab is blank and i am unable to reacquire the quest for completing the 5 event quest. It should be in either the lost quest archive or the drifter event page since the event is still active.

No, its counting quests completed not tokens obtained/spent. Xur will bring quests later today and you can get your 5th quest completed.
