  • REading and understanding it are one thing. Taking away significant portions of the game from those who paid probably won't ever be taken well. Bungie lied about it and here we are years later still wondering if or when we will get any of it back. And this is just one of the issues they created themselves.

  • You can think this, but it's a major issue that took many players away from the game. Sunsetting paid content was the beginning of the end for Destiny.

  • So how long is the end going to last? lmao Sunsetting was beyond light, which was almost four years ago... And it's not a matter of thinking tht. It's just true. You can still say people left because of it, but that, again, was FOUR YEARS ago, so anyone leaving ebcause of that specific reason should've been LONG gone.

  • And many of them are still gone, just because th game didn't cease to run the last 4 years doesn't mean that one decision didn't significantly hinder any forward progress the game might have made. EVEN if some of those gains happened after. Bungie has always had to play catchup and never quite does it. Hence the hype and return of players and the significant player drop off quickly.

  • Sorry, but you (not specifically you) can't call something "the beginning of the end" and it be half the games life ago. That's just stupid.

  • Totally get you arn't after ME specifically lol. You certainly can look back at any decision and say you know what, that right there.. was the begininng of the end.. Just because it takes time to completely kill off something, deosnt mean we can't pin point the spot that if it were different, might have led to a different end. IMHO. You are of course, able to have your own.. By the way, no matter how old you are right now.. you are dying.. a slow but, inevitable end will come. It may take decades but, you are still dying.

  • So then the release of the game was the beginning of the end by that logic lol. I get the point, even if I disagree, and sure, you can point to that as a factor for a lot of people quitting, but given the peaks we've hit since, I feel it's fair to say that it wasn't the beginning of the end for a larger portion of the player base than it was.

To be fair and honest.. Yeah. D2 came out with double primaries and a host of changes nobody wanted. D1 was very clearly changed to bring us D2 and I can say from my own experience, with over 5000 players across 4 clans in D1, less than half of those players even made it through that first vanilla d2 expansion before hanging up the guns and moving on.. So yeah.. in a way.. those first decisions and then many along the way.. have brought us to this point. Big bold and bad ddecisions they continued to double down on at every turn. HMMM further pondering, perhaps many started the game less than 4 years ago. That would account for both the downturn and significant peaks the game has endured.

  • Ok that's honeslty nonsense. No, the launch of the game was not the beginning of the end. Flatly.
