SBMM…..Sounds like you should be a worse player so it will balance your team better. But I get your feelings because I t happens to me. I’ve jumped on the play other things boat and been playing RuneScape the last 2 weeks. It’s been nice and honestly I don’t miss this game. I’ve only been on for like an hour a day the last few days to try and get my god roll perfect paradox. Once I get it…..I’m don’t playing until the Act 3.

A 1.5 is not bad for plat or even adept maybe. That being said I have seen so many burgers with the ascendant emblem so idk at this point

The issue with SBMM as that win I am in good, plat, adept.. I have to play people in ascendant. It makes getting to ascendant a freaking challenge because I have to play people on both sides of the skill base.

Edited by EarthlyJaguar0: 8/1/2024 1:37:30 PMYeah I think there is also some very harsh lobby balancing if you are decent but you are in a lower rank. For me I would say that in a decent chunk of my games in lower ranks like gold I definitely got paired with significantly worse players than the opponents. This makes literally zero sense. If you are a decent player you should be able to steamroll through the lower ranks instead as being used as lobby balancing fodder. A lot of my other friends also had similar experiences. D2 is literally the only game that employs this stupid system. Look at games like valorant and rocket league where ranks actually mean something and they signify mastery of mechanics. Compare this to d2 where below 1 kd players can get ascendant and the ranks mean literally nothing because of sbmm. If the matchmaking was actually rank based and connection was prioritised comp would be so much better but bungie won’t do it since they know the ranks don’t mean crap. I don’t mean to make excuses or make it seem like “ no I swear bro I should be in a higher rank my teammates are the issue and I am good at the game. “ but this system in comp is not good.
