Management is garbage but acting like developers did nothing wrong is ridiculous.

I mean this is an everyone problem. Yes management is extreme garbage. But the game has died down FAST just like after Lightfall. Everyone is praising the developers and the job they've done. Some of it is deserved. But a lot of criticism is deserved too. The exotic class item was poorly implemented, the acts aren't good, and Titans have been alienated by everyone. Thats almost a third of your gamer base. And people are stomping on Titans when they're down right now. That's not even including all the problems that come with this game like 100 bucks a year and how slow they are on balancing their game. Theres a lot of problems that got pushed back because TFS campaign was really good. But now what is there? The game costs too much and there's not enough content to justify that costs Say what you want to me and my opinions, but these factors clearly have some effect on the game itself. Acting like the management is the only problem is ludicrous. Look at Overwatch. It's an unbalanced mess and they already got rid of previous management a hot minute ago. I stopped playing a week ago and I don't plan on coming back for a long time if ever. My reason was because there's absolutely zero excuse Titan should feel the way they do right now and it's been a long time since I've truly felt rewarded with good loot that I didn't spend days on. I have almost 40 clears on Warlord's Ruin and no Buried Bloodline. On no planet is that okay. I'm not arguing with people on this matter anymore. But it is a reason people leave. And instead of "Yeah we're sorry you feel like that right now." You get told, "Get good loser." Which brings me to my next reason for people leaving. This is a very toxic community. And that attributes to people leaving. Look I know I was all over the place, but only blaming the management team is ridiculous. I think Bungie has problems from top to bottom to the playerbase. And yeah Destiny can always do good in short spurts with expansions but no one wants to stick around anymore albeit because of a toxic community or your favorite character or builds being nerfed into the ground or the ridiculous cost and time that is required for this game.

  • The devs don’t have that much autonomy over game decisions like that. It’s like blaming a brick layer for a building a building 10 meters too far left and the roof 2 meters too low when they worked according to the plans rather than blaming the architect who designed the plans.

  • It depends on the process at a company. In most software development that I have been subject to: -- a coder just codes -- a designer just designs -- even a PO (I dont want to confuse titles so leaving that as is).. prioritizes and helps organize.. whats given to them in an already prioritized list Product Management/Directors/Chiefs and VPs -- they give the APPROVAL -- the vision -- the reviews -- figure out what the customer wants -- the roadmap -- they are deeply invovled in caring about their specific responsibility (ex: Gambit Product Manager).. they are like CEO of Gambit.. They fight for gambit in meetings.. for money.. and they review any output and changes. --they communicate all this to their dev teams ...this is actually a very generalized description because in general you don't have time to manipulate every single variable from the top... and yes you do get to push back and ask for redesigns.. but again it just depends on the company processes.. but specifically on what upper management (TOP DOWN) will drive people as the new concept... so in essence.. when "Bad News" happens (misses on top line).. good culture will adapt and have upper management on fire to push back and get their respective lines/houses (Gambit.. PVP..etc) in order... to the point of VPs sitting in those low level meetings right the ship. I feel Bungie has not setup good practices in this regard.

  • Not sure what logic you used to come to the conclusion “acting like management is the only problem is ludicrous.” Explain to me how it’s the artist fault titan is in a bad spot? Explain to me how it’s the programmers fault titan is in a bad spot? Explain to me how it’s the writers fault titans in a bad spot? These people are just pawns that are given rolls and task by their bosses and management. They have no say or direction in what happens in the game, they’re told to create and they create. Trying to push the blame on the employees is not only wrong it’s just not bright at all. It’s almost like you’ve never worked a job before if you don’t understand this. Horrible post, just delete it, you look like a clown.
