Yeah almost beating LF in sales is not good, LF was less than WQ, WQ was less than BL

LF sold on TWQ levels. Just check the day 1 login count.

Not true. WQ hit 1m pre orders, BL did not. Lightfall sold more units than WQ. FS however has seen a big dropoff

So here's the information I found from "TheGamePost"
Destiny 2’s previous expansion, Lightfall, released in February 2023, has around 2.249 million estimated lifetime pre-orders, The Witch Queen, released in 2022, has 2.244 million lifetime pre-orders, and Beyond Light, released in 2020, has 3.189 million lifetime pre-orders.
& what's 'lifetime pre orders' lol. I'm sure I researched this years ago & it's actual lifetime sales so of course BL sold high as it's been out for 3 years, especially given bungies trick or tying old content sales to current content, like you need BL to play glassway nightfall, you need forsaken to play last wish etc. I know WQ broke records at 1m, then lightfall made more money but the cost did go up so was likely under 1m, FS was worse than both pretty much guaranteed

I'm honestly not entirely sure how it actually tracked because Bungie doesn't release the actual information on sales. I believe these were tracked via the pre-sale emblem you would receive when pre-ordering.
-
Yeah you get that even after launch. We've not had over 3m players since D2 launch, absolutely no way BL outsold WQ & LF.
-
I believe the only reason that BL technically sold more than the others was because it was on Xbox game pass
-
That's a valid point but Xbox numbers are low compared to PSN & pc, maybe you're right though or at least in part.
-
That's very very wrong. Bungie tweeted the day before WQ launched thank you we just hit 1m pre orders for the first time ever. They could be actual sales within the year, you do still get the pre order bonuses even after release so possibly that's what this is. It's also heavily discounted soon after release so lots wait to buy then. Just going off day 1 & day 2 averages because I'm guessing 99% play on those days (who bought the dlc) WQ 2.6m daily players across 48 hours LF 3m daily players FS 1.9m daily players There's absolutely no way imo FS hit bungies projections given it would have been higher than the previous 2. The fact insiders are now saying Sony took over backs this up as missing sales projections was the trigger for Sony to absolve the board & take over
