Destiny may only last until marathon comes out, now. The game is all but dead if Sony took over. It haemorrhages cash - Sony probably can’t wait to shut it down and steal the talent.

Well it does make sense. Take the talent to other more important projects and milk destiny a bit more whilst marathon is in the works than if marathon fails gut rest of studio and just take the financial loss and move on. I have a feeling bungie are very in the red

I have a feeling bungie are very in the red
I don’t think it matters that marathon succeeds or not - it’s a sunk cost at this point due to Sony acquiring Bungie outright - certain executive bonuses are tied to it that have to come first before Sony can step in completely and do what they want with Bungie…

I have a feeling bungie are very in the red
There’s probably conditions in the acquisition of Bungie by Sony on the release of marathon that are staggering this whole thing… When marathon is released all the top execs get bonuses- that’s already been confirmed by kotaku - when the execs are gone and the talent is picked over what’s going to be left? Not discounting that these are real people - but to a business your worth is subjective, unfortunately The windfall of the final shape was probably also factored into the sale of Bungie…with the full knowledge that cuts were coming immediately afterwards…
