I really do not want to come across as insensitive at a time like this but I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what he did.

  • He tanked for a job opportunity. It isn't the 1st time, and it won't be the last. Essentially... sabotage... legal sabotage, but still as scummy as it gets. He made sure Bungie missed targets. He sold out. I wonder how Jason feels? Got away from MS, got away from Activision... put Pete on thinking they were both on the same page. @Jason Jones... the money never made sense, he ****** you.

  • I was just wondering because I honestly don't know how these things work.

  • To sum up Pete basically used his ceo tag as a means to get what he wanted and now he’s falling into greed to the point where if an offer is made to him with enough zeroes on the tag he’ll use his employees as a throw rug to step on to grab his check He has no regard that he’s literally just ruined 220 peoples current income and perhaps even their lively hoods.he is a tyrant of a ceo and needs to resign before he drives bungie and destiny into the ground

  • Most CEO's aren't full time Santa Clauses. And I don't work there or know enough about how that place works but there was a whole runup to all of this and some other stuff that happened and maybe some other people that were being a little bit greedy themselves. Its unfortunate but a lot of companies have gone through something similar in the last year or so. I'm not saying you're wrong its just that usually with stuff like this there's more to it than meets the eye. I guess all I'm saying is that I'm not sure if this is like some of the other companies you read about on the internet where when things go wrong you can pin it on one person. With those companies that person usually has a long track record of being a d bag. Where with this one before all of this started they were doing the Santa Claus stuff.

  • Hey man the devs made the game. The game wasn't good, so they didn't hit projections. No hitting projections means they need to balance out their books somewhere and guess what lay offs are the most efficient and easy way to do so especially when most of them aren't doing much.

Yeah the devs made the game but those in leadership positions are the ones directing the devs on what to put in the game. The devs themselves don’t just get to decide that themselves, they have to listen to what management wants (like with every job). So if the game wasn’t good, that’s more on management first for steering the dev team in the wrong direction. So the logical conclusion would be to lay off the higher ups (like Pete and other executives directly under him) and replace them with (hopefully) more competent leadership by promoting from within the company. But of course, that’s considering humans have any common sense, and we know hardly any do these days.

  • Pete is so high up on the totem pole he had no idea what is going on in destiny dev wise. Now we can start at management sure. But management is no where near the higher ups on the chain of command in a company. The only thing we can really blame Pete for is the idea of starting to many projects at once. But then again probably not because these ideas were most likely brought up to their board and approved by that board. There is much more to businesses then meets the eyes and apparently most people don't understand that. Sure Pete makes a -blam!- ton of money, but that 3.4 bill didn't go directly to him. He had to probably pay everyone on bungies board of directors a nice chunk of change. Every company is the same, if the company ain't doing well u have to make some changes.
