@Sony & Bungie... a word.

Love the franchise, love the developers... What's done is done. Look at Dragon Age and Bioware... look at Ubisoft. @Sony, do you want this IP and Studio to be worth something? Remove Pete. If you don't, the future is in the headlines past and present. Does Sony want somebody like Pete Parsons? No loyalty, fiscal incompetence and he accomplished what was needed. He's using this situation to enrich himself in failure. Now that the takeover is assured, you don't want or need him anymore. And anything he's attached to in the future is doomed to fail, tainted by his ethics, and he can't be trusted. If you want to keep some of the actual talent that built that 3.4 billion dollar holding, you shouldn't keep him. The sooner you remove him, the better it will be for the bottomline. The best thing you can do to get ahead of this right now. As it stands, there will be a mass exodus... devs... and amongst the community. Honor is important to me, and Pete sold his for a garage full of classic cars... over the livelihood of his colleagues he's spent a decade with. It's just business, help Pete to understand that reality. Keeping him on, in any capacity, will be a huge mistake. The sooner the better, and then we can all start to move on. "Hope for the Future". Otherwise, you might as well sell the IP before it's completely worthless.

  • Sorry, not sorry, removing him is not going to save the game as some of you would like to think. It goes a lot deeper when it comes to what's wrong with the company/game and it's spreading across gaming. One of the main issues is the devs not playing the game, and that means they are a huge part of the problem with what's wrong with the game. Just because people can code, it doesn't mean they are the right people for the job. Look at 343 on how they destroyed Halo, and when you look at the original devs that designed and played Halo, you can easily see the huge difference between the 2.

    • From the german website ingame:
Following the takeover of Bungie by Sony in 2022, CEO Pete Parsons has really let himself go. In the two years, Parsons is said to have spent around 2.3 million dollars on older cars. This discovery came out after he announced another wave of redundancies at Bungie. The reason for the dismissal: "Financial challenges" - although the last expansion was almost perfect. However, Parsons was apparently excluded from the problems. Now the CEO of Bungie is facing massive criticism - and not just from his former employees. Another criticism levelled at Parsons is the fact that many employees found out about her dismissal via Twitter/X. Apparently there was no prior meeting where this was announced - which came as a surprise to many. Neither Parsons nor Bungie have officially commented on the criticism.
We've already heard that Sony is pissed off with Bungie management. He won't get away with it (I hope), but it won't hurt him either. American business as usual.

    • Listen its not just 1 guy (but can very well be a domino affect) but the optics are bad.. its easy for Sony (even golden parachute) you chop off the head (salt it) install "The Cleaner" and have the ship running efficiently. Give everyone a chance to succeed, create the new processes needed.. but also have a culture that understands consequences for failure. I think that upper mgmt team needs to scrutinize and pushback output much more.. plan future roadmaps for all released products so we know they wont decay.. listen to customers more.. we are here.. somewhat.. for now.

    • Seeing all this stuff about Pete Parsons just reminds me of Bobby Kotick. No one wants a Bobby Kotick in their company.

      • I really do not want to come across as insensitive at a time like this but I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what he did.
