That those responsible for the war on solo players are those paying the price of their jobs.
There is no guarantee of this however.
Those so convinced of their righteousness are usually content to allow others to pick up the tab for their luxury ideas.
Marginalize the majority of the player base, turn every story beat into some alphabet people drama, bait and switch your advertising V product etc. You think Parsons didn't sign off on all that stuff?
He still has his job.
I predicted this but remain unhappy about it because I have a hook in me from Destiny 2 and I want it to be great. Nothing will ever replace it. I have no faith that the core problems will be fixed. Easier to fire 220 people and continue in the fervor of ideological correctness.
That is the real final shape right there.
In the end, the only game capable of being the Destiny 2 killer was Destiny 2.
Those who think that this is the darkest point simply lack imagination.

Since everyone's sharing their feelings, I have to say that I've always hesitated on arguing for things for solo players mostly because I have nonsensical amount of time playing solo. But also because people don't want to deal with any nuance as far as what it means to play solo in this game. I don't think its the same to play solo in PvE and PvP for example. The game is a multiplayer game in PvE that was about playing on teams from the time it came out and everyone knows that. It also doesn't mean that having some solo things is bad. In PvP the solo thing gets wrapped up into the horrible "anti elitism" argument and it becomes part of trying to say most of the problems with the mode originate from the top, when that is just not the case if its actually supposed to be competitive. Its also double what happens to solos in PvE during those times where people will say its a team based game but the whole playlist or mode will be running on the fact that solos are playing it. In PvP everyone that's allowed to play it should be able to have an accurate, non-artificial, idea of how good they really are with the gameplay actually working. That happens rarely if ever and most of the reason it happens is because of the people that leap to making ridiculous character judgements where they make the logical fallacy of those judgements being based on them getting what they want. Which is not only wrong, it often devolves into everyone talking and behaving like children. And it can get kind of twisted with what people will come up with to get what they want when in fact the way you get what you want should be far more straightforward if that part of the game was actually competitive. Similar to the problems that come from where they come from in PvP, I'm fairly sure (but not absolutely sure) that some of the story beats and value based or overly judgmental feeling aspects of the game did absolutely not originate from the "top" of the company. Its not really fair to obscure the fact that the company works a little bit different in terms of the way they empower people to be able to do what they want. Sometimes it does look like it can be kind of like PvP where when things don't go well the people that are actually or at least partially or mostly responsible don't want to accept any of the responsibility. And so they play the whole elitism card because that plays well and no one wants to get called that.
