Let’s be honest.
Most people are more mad about them being gay than the story being bad

Even if these were straight people it would be bad. Who cares about love when you are addressing world ending threats? If I did, I’d play Mass effect where at least my character is the one clapping cheeks and breaking hearts… and it tracks between sequels!
-
its not like people expect good character development, expecially big names like osiris and saint-14 people are legit mad cuz bungie is shoehorning something half baked...... again like i get people started to play yesterday (or live inside twitter) but you people do realise that bungie went "oh yeah btw Osiris ans Saint love to grind gears if you catch my meaning" at the very end of a pirate themed season that had nothing to do with osiris of all things to drop that and when they finally get the idea of actually doing somthing with that relationship all we get is saint being moody for 3 weeks straight, just to get his second wind all of a sudden and Osiris has been degraded to a cry baby that feels bad about things, the guy who tore open time itself to save saint feels moody, cuz that make sense people get mad cuz they want good characters instead of hidding bad characteriztion behind the character -blam!-, no one cares if osiris likes to -blam!- a giant russian toaster, it feels like the characters got downgraded
-
Noticed how you wrote all that without bringing up the woke agenda or how they’re forcing gayness on players ? There’s a reason anytime a gay relationship exists in the game people complain about the gay part so much.
-
Yeah but most of them like to hide their bigotry behind a whining about a story. We all know they were up in arms during any of the other terrible story beats 🙄
-
“I have nothing against gay people.I just don’t like stories about them.’ Eido story was the worst.

I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain. 10 years later. Oh yeah, this is the uh. Thing. I guess it really had nothing to do with the Vex. -
I haven't seen a single person like any relationship story about mara and her queensguard, eris and drifter, or amanda and crow. The only one people tolerate slightly is shaxx and mara because of the helmet memes associated with it. No one likes bungies writing because they cant write. Pretending people are "bigots" because they don't like being fed hot garbage is ridiculous.
-
...Meanwhile OP outright says hes gay and doesnt like the story, because its out of nowhere, with no lore, or any hints whatsoever. Literally just years later decides to say....oh yeah btw they're gay and in a relationship. Then on top of that, so far no one who disagrees with how bungie approached this, has expressed bigotry in any way. Hell, some of my own coolest friends are gay. Why tf would I care who they like or date!?!?!?! So its pretty clear anyone attacking us for disagreeing with the sh!t tier story telling, is simply incredibly ignorant for repeatedly throwing out the same empty woke insults we've all seen time and time again. But with no validity whatsoever.
-
It's sad to a certain degree. Imagine living life with such a fragile and narrow mindset.
-
Nah it’s the complaints about them being gay and the “it’s an agenda” comments.
-
Nah, don’t play that card.! It’s cringe storytelling at its worst. Gay/straight doesn’t matter, its a smokescreen for the lack of story or character development. The post FS story has been so poor my 10 year old grandson could have done better.
-
So talk about that. Yet every time them being gay gets brought up along with criticism just shows it’s not only about the bad writing.
-
Edited by 境井 仁 Rinzler: 8/1/2024 3:20:34 PMBECAUSE THEM BEING GAY CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. They've been in the game for YEARS now, with no lore, hints in the in game story, NOTHING AT ALL that would lead ANYONE to think EITHER OF THEM WOULD BE IN A RELATIONSHIP! If they randomly said Osiris was lovers with Ikora instead of Osiris, WE WOULD STILL BE SAYING WHERE TF DID THIS COME FROM?
-
This is where it started. Mad and disgusted with what was an unnecessary add to the game. The terrible story telling has helpped ZERO! No reason to make this a gay relationship OTHER than appealing to the LGBTQ to get their esg or whatever score up. The point of the game should always be fun first, story second and leave your woke politics at home. As Budwiser learned it is not always good to spit in the face of your loyal supporters just for a score that proves you want to appear pro something or other.
-
it's written like a poor soap opera. no.
-
Yeah it’s trash not disagreeing. Yet people can’t help themselves from bringing up agendas and them being gay
-
to be fair, until sony stepped in, the company was filled with "diversity"
-
I’m sure it’s still rather diverse.
-
especially since Sony took the ones who actually do their jobs.
-
Oh wow that’s your take then right ….maybe just say to yourself before you type 👍
-
Nah, the main gripe is the story is shite.
-
Story is always shite. It’s destiny. Just so happens that stories with gay characters get more hate. The correlation is apparent
-
Story wise, Riven and Taranis > Saint and Osiris. Bungie is capable of creating an engaging narrative. However, consistency has always plagued them. With the narrative lead being fired, perhaps destiny storytelling will improve.
-
the only correlation is authors hidding behind gay characters when the characters suck people will choose a good character 9 out of 10 times over who they go to bed with, stop chilling for bad storytelling
-
Very slimy. “It’s not us bungie is hiding behind gay characters. That’s why we keep complaining about them being gay!”
