What it means is that Bungie paid for reviews, and that fooled people into making a bad purchase.
Then after discovering how bad the DLC is, people just quit playing.

This has got to be bait. TFS may not be Forsaken in terms of quality but it's one of the best expansions Destiny has had.
-
I think the quality of the DLC material is not the issue. It’s rather the fact that a lot of it is inaccessible to most players, especially solo players. And that’s the message they keep sending. 90% of the people who want or wanted to play this game are being told to F off. Well … they did. And here we are.
-
You know you’re not entitled as a solo player to get everything in a video game. You pay for access to it just like everyone else and you choose not play it that’s on you not the devs. This was honestly bound to happen I think even if bungie did hit their goals i honestly think Sony was going to integrate themselves more into it. Hell if this makes the game better im all for it. Look at other Sony studio titles. Pretty good tbh. Spider Man on the ps5 is amazing. I due hate to see people lose their jobs over it, but that’s on them to figure out. Obviously they have management issue. Seems like Sony is going to fix that . Only time will tell in this situation. We just don’t know what’s going and the fact bungie went blackout mode isn’t good either. I think the CEO needs to be canned, but thats how I feel. I’m still going to play this game cause I love it. Until the day this game fully dies. Which is hard honestly, been around this long and not alot of other games feel a great as this game does. It is what it is at this point, most we can due as a community is stick together. But you know it’s easy to get onto the hate bandwagon.

Compared to other DLC being average to disappointing on average, it's not a high bar to begin with
-
-
Nah it's not, 80% quit after 4 weeks.
-
Um the maybe don't confuse the episode with the dlc
-
If that’s the case why is practically nobody playing it anymore? The drop off in players has been supposedly severe. I read something like 64% of those that purchased the expansion are no longer playing.
-
Destiny numbers are as stable as they have always been. There is a regular rise and fall of player population that always spikes when a DLC drops. Over 100k at launch, down to 40-60k average within a few weeks. Go to steamcharts and look at the population graph for the last year.
-
You're reading the wrong charts. Concurrent mean nothing. **Overall:** 657.86k **PvE:** 604.84k **PvP:** 146.32k **Gambit:** 49.93k **Raid:** 90.16k **Trials:** 53.12k These are yesterday's total numbers. Lower than warmind lows. It took light fail 7 months post launch to hit these numbers, WQ didn't hit these numbers all year, the projections for the next year are very very bad. Today's layoffs & bad press will fuel this, most people already don't expect there to be a future, so why keep playing?
-
Yeah thats for the episode which is different than the dlc 🤦♂️
-
Didn't drop this badly after lightfall or WQ, you're lost.
-
Yeah thats because the seasonal content at the time was good this kne is boring af. Again dlc is different than the season/episode
-
No you're right, kind of. The dkc for me lasted 3 days, idk about you. Numbers still dropped off a lot faster than the 2 previous years & there's very little difference between episodes & seasons if were being honest. Numbers are lower now than warmind
-
I think it was about the same for me 3 maybe 4 days (I'm not counting my other 2 characters) I agree they are lower I'm just saying the dlc just the dlc did really well. But this episode was boring af some of the seasons were mid a few were good but I think that's where bungie looses its player base is the content after their dlc.
-
I actually thought they front loaded it intentionally, smelled a rat when they gave pretty much every creator with over 10 viewers a free game + 10000 silver, they wanted that day 1 everyone needs to buy this vibe, to get the fence sitters buying so if it did succeed financially that's why. The last 3 dlcs had some post dlc content, like wellspring, vex incursions etc, final shape has nothing, remove nostalgia & the dlc itself was not great. It was still good, just not great for me. I don't even think episodes are that bad, the story is awful tbh but the content is decent, there's just this aura of sadness that it feels like it's over, the future bleak, & these layoffs add weight to that.
-
Yeah, the story is good but a little hard to follow if you aren't strictly paying attention. But honestly, unlike seasons this time around, I'm not like grinding everything out. Usually, I want all the weapons and would have most of them, but other than prismatic and the pale heart weapons (which are dlc), I don't find myself wanting all the weapons like I usually do. I can give you that the dlc wasn't mind-blowing if you take nostalgia and the fact it wrapped up a 10-year journey. I'm hoping episode 2 is better visually it looked better than this episode. However I do think most of it is the fact vex aren't very interesting. Either way it's disheartening to see a game I've invested in since the alpha of destiny 1 dwindle like it has.

The drop off in players since TFS expansion released, I believe really showed the disconnect between what Bungie was developing and what the player base was wanting. I feel bad for those employees that were “following orders” that were laid off. It wasn’t their fault TFS was not fun to replay BUT bad Game Direction/Development decisions from those in charge tendsto flow downhill and affect others. Hopefully feedback from the average/everyday player will be taken into account going forward with future development.
-
I’m extremely happy with my final shape purchase.
-
Despite the networking, best the game has ever been, imo. It wasn't as big as Forsaken... that's true, but it's still a great game.
-
Forsaken and TTK were better than TFS. It seems like Bungie is out of ideas.
