Enough negativity- share your most treasured things in-game:

My original day 1 hymn buff. I can still remember the day I got it. And those times helping those people get that exotic? Classic. Does it give me +0.004 airborne effectiveness? who knows. I will always cherish its presence in my UI. Wish we could have woken the hive together.

  • My greatest treasure from this game comes from the days of D1 Year 1. I had originally planned on waiting until about a year in to start. My older brother was doing a tour through Asia in the Navy, so I wanted to wait until he came back so we could play together. A friend of mine made a big deal about not having anyone to play with though, so I got the game to help him out. We did most of the campaign separate, but got back together to run it on the harder difficulty. Nowadays, that wouldn't have been much of a feat, but back then, when we were both about 20ish levels under the recommendation, it was a bit of a challenge, but very doable. Up until the strike Winter's Run. That strike for whatever reason gave us the most trouble. We finally got to the end and wiped so many times, mostly due to the snipers hiding out in a cave behind the fight. So, we came up with a plan. I was running Voidwalker with a bullet hose Auto Rifle. He was on Bladedancer with a Sniper and a Scout. We figured out that, if we jumped on top of the big rock in the back of the arena, we couldn't get melee'd by the boss, and it had a harder time shooting us if we crouched. Problem then became the snipers. So, we divided duties. He'd watch the snipers and pop them as they spawned, using invis to rez me if he missed one. My job was to lay into Aksor with everything I had. Already felt like an epic moment for us, even if it probably wasn't as hard as we were thinking. However, we had a moment during that fight that kind of became a running joke for us. He got killed by a sniper, so I ducked back quick to grab him. I turned around only to find that Aksor had vanished. Turns out, he was in a corner of the rock that just hung over his head enough to disappear. Gut reaction, I went "Uh... He's gone." My friend immediately yelled over the mic, "How the f--k did you lose an Archon Priest?" We almost wiped when we busted out laughing. Unfortunately my friend got disillusioned with Destiny not long after that. A lot of his other friends jumped ship before Taken King, so he followed them. That comment is something we both still reference to this day though.
