Ok based on comments here I went and just completed the blind well tier 3 heroic/unstable 3 times with 3-5 other randoms. (I get a patrol banner and then I go in with my sparrow)
I actually think its pretty similar to pre TFS as in it got the Lightfall upgrade in difficulty and no more.. but yes that makes the bosses tanky.. with kind of bugged mechanics for certain encounters. (ex: the screebs don't spawn directly around boss so they remain immune.. and this is made more difficult if they spawn that shielding thing for their ads also).. just stay patient hug and keep your weller alive.
I think the activity is fun to do... I was taking out everything and I got 7 dreaming city weapons in those 3 runs..(everyone except waking vigil) >> Tigerspite is actually a fun gun for PVE (with Kinetic Tremors) and PVP (many varietals)... and I actually use my Sleepless Rocket Launcher with autoloading/bipod ..the activity is in general a fun thing imo because its so casual in people joining.. accepting builds.. those "blorbs" make you powerful supers all the time.. the cooperation is awesome.. its matchmaking without waiting really.. I think its actually in this regard done very well.
My setup
Well / Sunbracers
Scatter Signal (controlled burst)
Sunshot (it is the main gun for this activity)
Scintillation (bait & switch.. and actually cornered which does well for these bosses since you are frikkin surrounded)
Biggest tip is hunt down those shiny enemies for blorbs take out the servants for more.. just before you take them out.. you pop your super and then grab a blorb.. it'll come back almost right away. No need to pop a super until you know you will get a blorb.. except during the boss engagements (be poppin it).
Note: I did not see my full weapon drop until I left dreaming city.. if you don't have slots available on your guardian.. they will not show as dropped until you check postmaster.

Not dissing you Bud. But you proved op point exactly. You went in with a meta build and weapons. Tried just completing bounties and using odd weapons to level them up. Massacred!! Went back in with a mets build and it was fine.

Edited by eliteg: 7/30/2024 9:38:42 PMI don't consider my build meta.. just practically strong and not difficult to do (one of several) also one that can help randoms as much as possible.. (I am like the most basic light-class Warlock style) ..Blind well for bounty completions? I don't go in for that (unless something dreaming city specific) ...so imo the OPs mindframe is wrong on what this event is now.. I agree that certain things should be toned down (and have a variety of levels).. but this is at a nice level imo.. also I did not buy season/tfs.. I'm low/regular rank.. trying to say its very achievable.. nothin special.. rewards can be toned up though -------------- (I don't mess/like the aspects/fragments too much usually just +stat ones) basic builds for me are: Arc: crown of tempests & getaway artists Void: nez, contraverse Solar: Phoenix, Sunbracer Neutral: Sanguin Alchemy, Mantle of Battle Harmony Thats all of it.. for me.. Vesper sometimes (will experiment with others) PVP: Ophidian I hope everyone uses https://d2armorpicker.com/ (made that build today using it because I had deleted my last sunbracers..)

You really don’t need both sunbracers and sun shot. Instead a better setup would be to use dragons breath, the call and a fusion. Or indented kindness and scatter signal like you said
-
Had Dragon's breath on call just in case.. but why not have a nice melee that give you 4 grenades.. even good for bosses? Believe you on the rocket sidearms but I have none.. sure many setups will work.. for me the one I used flows really naturally as I'm just setting fire to this poor well.. doing more damage to it then enemies probably.. Petra told me I have to speak to HR :) I dont use special and heavy until the bosses.. I think thats the key how are you bringing down their shields most efficiently.. bet chill clip aurvandil will work nice.
-
Linears are really really really terrible rn so I would use hgls over it. Dragons breathe has also has both a very good ammo economy and the high tick damage can break shield without you having to even look at the target. It Aldo benefits from sunbracers nades to proc ignitions to get a reload. Obviously it’s up to preference but with a setup like sunbracers it’s very easy to maintain double special and rocket sidearms are pretty versatile for some add clear to proc heat rises and to chunk majors. With armour mods keeping up ammo is no problem so I believe it’s an overall objectively better setup even if it may require a playstyle shift.

yeah.. now thinking about it.. I was really having to work hard with Scintillation (it was working fine but could be better).. and I will try to make the switch to Dragon's Breathe as that makes a lot of sense on the tick for the shield.. hmm may even allow me to then use my KT/Frenzy blast furnace.. curious to see what the tremor does for those shields. Yeah the special/heavy finders are a must
-
That’s a nice roll on blast furnace but you should consider the fact that the high zoom is hard to use in close range.
-
then I may go > ccx (attrition/tremors) or buzzard (tremors).. or even that tigerspite (tremors) btw I like Kinetic Tremors, haha.. have every version of blast furnace with it too
-
I would park buzzard over an smg since sidearms have a better damage profile
