You do realise after the change, overthrow related chests will have an escalating chance to give you the class item for every one you open?
And not only that, this "charge", if you will, can be "stored" to apply to lost sector and co-op mission chests.
If that escalating chance applies to the stitching/expunge/mending chests as well (TWID implies so, as these aren't regular chests) as well as HVT chests (again, these aren't classed as regular chests, so ought to apply) then the loop seems obvious.
Complete the overthrow, and if you are unfortunate enough to be unlucky not to get one in that (or even if you do get one), take your "charge" or accrued chance to one of the lost sectors and do it while the timer resets.
Honestly doesn't take that long to do an overthrow to completion, even solo, and if you aren't bothered about earning an Ergo Sum on the side, you can just pick your fave area to go ham in. (Personally am a fan of the Blooming Boss fight mechanics and most of the mini events). Most of the events don't take more than a minute of two to complete, and if you've got a decent build, you can bully the final boss in a couple of minutes depending on which one you get or which area you are in. (Impasse Tormentor and Landing Lucent Knight being the more challenging fights, imo, at least solo).
Honestly, this solution is the best and most feasible Bungie could have implemented to address the problem without harming users that use macros for legitimate reasons while still allowing those who wish to farm purely by world chests to do so (albeit it is now going to take them longer).
This is the best middle ground option we can get (for now), and Bungie even said they'd monitor to make another hit at it either way depending on how the change goes, including looking at possibly adding the reward elsewhere. (I'd personally love to see Rahool offer it as a focusing option after you reset him twice, as long as you have it unlocked, and as a reward from Excision, with the GM Excision giving double). So this isn't the end of this, far from it.
There are so many much worse things Bungie could have done to rectify this. There is no easy solution to appease everyone, and I think people forget that at times. They could have stopped the world chest drops entirely, people would have complained. They could ban macros, but then people who genuinely need them for legitimate reasons would complain. A PC only nerf is impossible because cross-play exists. Doing nothing means more people complain about macro use. Boosting Dual Destiny rewards only and not touching anything else means more people complaining about doing a tedious mission constantly for best efficiency at getting the class item.
I'm curious. What immediately feasible solution do you have to bridge the gap that will keep the majority of the playerbase happy? I mean this question sincerely, no sarcasm. I am genuinely interested in how you might deal with this in a feasible manner at this point in time, until the more longer term solutions you (and many others) have suggested can be implemented.

My issue is them nerfing Normal Pale Heart Chest drop rate which makes it longer for people just opening them organically. The only thing that changes for the macro users is quantity but they could still do it. Please remember I'm not talking about overthrow chests increase chance.

How would you solve the macro issue, specifically, though, while allowing legitimate macro users to continue using their macros and normal players to just wander about opening chests because they are done with Overthrows? Don't get me wrong. I think they should be in other activities, but let's face it, even putting it in those activities, unless said activities become the most efficient way of farming it, then people will still afk with macros. And be honest, none of those activities would be, with maybe the exception of ritual challenge drops at the 3, 6, 9, and only then, if it was more than one per drop and maybe infinitely repeatable every 3 activities. Raids take too long, and require a lot of time and effort to set up. GMs, depending on your skill level and which GM it is, same thing. Even regular ritual activities take time, and no guarantee you would even get the roll you in the first place. The problem is, trying to balance rarity with efficiency and amount of effort needed. And, as long as there exists a low effort way of getting it that is more efficient than how Bungie would prefer you to get something, people will go for the cheese and the macros every time. It is a very difficult one, unfortunately.
