I do think it's weird how all the well known streamers very suspiciously always get the raid weapon so they can make YouTube videos about them. Yet half of everyone else runs stuff 30 times and still can't get the drop

I do think it's weird how so many claim to hate streamers but never shut the hell up about them.
-
I think it's weird if you think people shouldn't be able to talk about things they have grievances with. When you're in a game forum about that said game, people are gonna talk about the game and the various things that effect it. Why wouldn't you be expecting such a thing in a forum about destiny 2? Unrealistic expectations that anyone would stop talking about things to do with the game.
-
The very reason streamers have so much alleged power and sway is because you keep them at the front of the conversation, whether for good or bad. Have you ever heard of the expression "free publicity?" You might as well subscribe to their channels; you're selling for them after all.
-
I think the reason is because they have a symbiotic relationship with Bungie. They promote the game with videos, Bungie funnels them money and advertising deals and special treatment in the game. It's a stretch to think my lowly derogatory comment about them in bnet forums is what's driving streamer engagement. Their videos are getting millions of views, that's what drives engagement don't you think?
-
How do you think they reached that status? They were just lowly gamers like you and me until they made a video someone watched, then they told a friend, and they told a friend, and so on. Multiple people making posts about how "Streamers are the DEVIL!" has the same effect; word of mouth. Don't be so arrogant as to think I was implying you and you alone are the sole reason streamers are where they are.

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 7/30/2024 7:23:10 PMI just don't think it matters man. Bungie's gonna bungie and streamers are gonna stream. Serious question, do you think there's gonna be some revolution this late in the game's life cycle that takes power away from streamers and gives it to the masses? You shouldn't let yourself be so frustrated. Even if it's probably a little frustrating. I've seen you commenting before and you don't have bad takes, you're reasonable. I do not however think it's a reasonable thing to rail against such a broad thing as topics including streamers happening in forums. Because we ain't changing dookie brudda. We are too late, my dude, too too late.
-
You seem to be misinformed; I'm not frustrated. I'm not one of the masses that continues to spin the tale of the wicked streamers and the downfall of Destiny at their hands. I'm continually confused about the whole ridiculous nature of it all, but not frustrated.
-
All I know is, streaming is a multi-billion dollar industry and the only option is to get off the train because nobody's stopping it until something cataclysmic sets us back to the stone age. Wherever there's a game with any semblance of replayability that players can become invested in, streamers will be there with bells on.

It was explained about the exotic from the raid, but that doesn't explain how the have all of the exotics right off the bat from every single activity in this game to advertise.
-
Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 7/30/2024 4:54:40 PMPretty much lol I cannot recall seeing steamers struggling to get drops like normal plebs who run stuff 300 times and get nothing I've seen it with rolls before, but definitely not exotics.
Pretty much lol I cannot recall seeing steamers struggling to get drops like normal plebs who run stuff 300 times and get nothing
Nope, and I don’t recall any of the top streamers posting a video about it. Not saying they never have, I just havent heard about it.
-
Yeah I've never seen Aztecross putting up a video saying I'd love to review this exotic for you but I just cannot get it to drop
-
-
Yeah funny how that always seems to happen right? Yet we’re supposed to believe the game is randomized. I had a friend in our clan that always seemed to get everything he wanted on the first try, yet I sometimes have to do certain activities over a hundred times to get the same Exotic or weapon roll that I want. And BTW I’m not exaggerating. Some things I needed to do over a hundred times to get what I wanted. Pure insanity.
-
Bro, it’s a guaranteed drop during day 1 contest mode. That’s why those cats all have it. You beat it then you’ll get it too. I agree that Bungie privileges streamers wayyyyyyy too much, but this belief is paranoid.
-
Well I'm not a raider so if that's the case then my bad for the presumptuous allegation. That being said I definitely do think there's suspicious stuff happening with steamers, and I'm pretty sure guaranteed drops weren't always a thing, were they?
-
The last two raids have been guaranteed drop from contest mode of the raid.
-
I agree about streamer favoritism. The thing with guaranteed raid exotic drops has been a thing though at least since Last Wish.
-
Maybe not last wish because I seem to remember a WHOLE lot of people complaining they couldn't get 1k voices, extremely pissed off people.
