What did bungie do to the Blind Well???

I go in there to do a Synthesis Bounty(Defeat Bosses). And um, I got put down !! I go in there all prismatic up And left with a blackeye! I get making things harder but its not worth doing again Enjoyment is definitely not Bungies Forte

I do not mind it myself, but they gotta get real and return most normal activities to +20. The -5 is not interesting to players like me who like hard content, but it also turn off people who are there for a good time not a long time.

  • Hey remember when Escalation Protocol initially dropped it was impossible for most people to complete because of the vast difference in Power Level? But then when Forsaken dropped, Bungie didn't increase the Power Level of EP and you didn't need to jump through several hoops to get it cleared? Yeah. Let's get rid of that for no reason.

    • It's the same everywhere now. After 10 years the bad guys finally won and our guardians are weak as piss. Bungie are the bad guys.

    • For me best survival seems to be tied to creating orbs. Seems to be the only way to reliably proc health and armor. Others seem to fail to proc or even respond. Been buggy since TFS launched.

    • Haven’t been in since last season. Is it harder now or something? I actually found it fun last season. Even though you could get beamed by ogres if you weren’t paying attention.

    • The blind well is highly over tuned now. I remember when they made us do that last season I had to put on starfire protocol during boss phase. I died a few times in my well last season (cause ogres) and now with the new nerf you'd probably die in it 24/7 with 3 eye blasts reaming you. I used to love going there and living out the "lore accurate guardian" 😔

      FR. I used to be able to solo Unstable charge if I sweated but they gutted my Ahamkara Spine and I can't peek at the ogres anymore or they just erase me.

    • Part of the problem is Bungie disabled power level in patrols. That activity was not made around power being disabled.

I would assume solo because that's what everybody on these forums does

      • SERIOUSLY!!!! I went in there a couple weeks ago, ogre week. And OMG we usually stomp but not anymore we got DESTROYED. It was so far from fun and I probably will simply not run it anymore. Note everything up to the boss round was fine. But damn those ogres don;t even have to look at you anymore and your dead. I think mine and the others poor ghosts got overheated and exhausted from rezing! And yes, we hid, as much as possible, underneath and all had proper weapons and mods. Yet only 2 out of 5 runs did we take to the final boss (where happily people actually knew what to do with the orbs!!!)

      • Not a matter of too hard, or too easy. The issue: it is not hard in fun or interesting ways. They turn enemies into damage sponges and the player weak. Also, you can only survive by position and through a build. Not through skill.

      • Bungie, in their infinite wisdom, decided to "spruce up" the Blind Well for Season of the Wish when they updated the weapon perk pool, and force players into it for the seasonal story and challenges. Increasing difficulty will invariably cause a decline in player interaction. I don't personally mind a challenge however I have been playing for a long time and know builds, the right gear, and how to run the activity. But after getting that difficult clear I almost never will go back to do it again. Less than 10% of the population is in this group, if we go by interactions with raids and other endgame activities. That leaves over 90% of the population alienated and very likely why there has been such a decrease in retention. But Bungie does not learn. They lean harder into it, until only the veterans and addicts remain, but even they are starting to drop off for other games. They fail to remember the reason why we clear normal activities so fast is because we know how to play the game, and rightfully so with thousands of hours into the game, I would hope we knew how. That leaves the casuals and the new players high and dry, its no wonder they don't stick around. If I was new into this game I would have quit after a few weeks, almost did during Season of the Worthy.

            Ok based on comments here I went and just completed the blind well tier 3 heroic/unstable 3 times with 3-5 other randoms. (I get a patrol banner and then I go in with my sparrow) I actually think its pretty similar to pre TFS as in it got the Lightfall upgrade in difficulty and no more.. but yes that makes the bosses tanky.. with kind of bugged mechanics for certain encounters. (ex: the screebs don't spawn directly around boss so they remain immune.. and this is made more difficult if they spawn that shielding thing for their ads also).. just stay patient hug and keep your weller alive. I think the activity is fun to do... I was taking out everything and I got 7 dreaming city weapons in those 3 runs..(everyone except waking vigil) >> Tigerspite is actually a fun gun for PVE (with Kinetic Tremors) and PVP (many varietals)... and I actually use my Sleepless Rocket Launcher with autoloading/bipod ..the activity is in general a fun thing imo because its so casual in people joining.. accepting builds.. those "blorbs" make you powerful supers all the time.. the cooperation is awesome.. its matchmaking without waiting really.. I think its actually in this regard done very well. [u][b]My setup[/b][/u] Well / Sunbracers Scatter Signal (controlled burst) Sunshot (it is the main gun for this activity) Scintillation (bait & switch.. and actually cornered which does well for these bosses since you are frikkin surrounded) Biggest tip is hunt down those shiny enemies for blorbs take out the servants for more.. just before you take them out.. you pop your super and then grab a blorb.. it'll come back almost right away. No need to pop a super until you know you will get a blorb.. except during the boss engagements (be poppin it). Note: I did not see my full weapon drop until I left dreaming city.. if you don't have slots available on your guardian.. they will not show as dropped until you check postmaster.
