There is no doubt that Destiny 2 is a stunningly gorgeous game with arguably the best weapons, movement and gunplay in the entire gaming industry
For FPS games, maybe.
They made a RAID so difficult that most people don’t even want to attempt it. And the top players that do (which is an extremely small percentage of the player base), once they’ve gotten all their desired loot, won’t ever do it again.
Raids aren't difficult, the majority of the player base is just bad. A Destiny raid shouldn't take you more than an hour once you've learned it, and 2-3 while you're learning it. Crota and DSC shouldn't last much more than 30 minutes. And most people who get all the stuff they want from them will stop doing them. There's no point otherwise.
No matter how much developers try to force socialization, (with the exception of full time gamers), most of us have mismatched schedules, full time jobs and other responsibilities, so we just want to hop on and play alone whenever we can. We don’t want to have to look for someone to do activities with.
Are people still banging on about this? Quit making excuses and use LFG for a few minutes. This is the biggest non-issue I've seen screeched about on here.
So as a solo player (which bares drilling into Bungie’s thick headed skulls IS HOW MOST PEOPLE PREFER OR ONLY HAVE TIME TO PLAY)
Your confirmation bias is showing
Which brings me to my finally point. Destiny 2 is supposed to be a “looter shooter” yet everything is so heavily RNG weighted (which I will never understand, because I will always believe it’s pure BS). Random to me means exactly that. Things are randomized. It doesn’t mean that some accounts get everything just handed to them, while other accounts suffer NEVER getting anything awarded to them. Randomization means ALL accounts should get lucky. After all, this isn’t a Powerball jackpot where Bungie has to give out Billions of dollars. Exotic weapons and armor should have a way better chance to drop for ALL players, not just a slim margined lucky few (that I’m still convinced are pre-chosen).
Your confirmation bias is showing again, along with your victim mentality. I got Eyes of Tomorrow on my 6th completion and Conditional Finality on my 4th completion. Took me 35 completions to get the Vex and 50+ to get Touch. RNG is RNG, regardless of how jilted you feel about it.
If you don't see a point in playing, stop playing.

I got Conditional on my first run lol our side of day one as well. Honestly the game is pathetically easy. Most to the players are really bad. Sorry not sorry for saying that but it’s the truth. Coming from someone who doesn’t have everything in the video game as well.the game is easier now more than ever. Super easy and free this season to solo most content. If you want a challenging game this isn’t it. Go play any From Soft game. Or go play Baldurs Gate 3, that game is alot coming from someone who spent 1000 hours on it while waiting on final shape and still hasn’t beaten it on the highest difficulty.

Bungie Defense Force -blam!- detected.

If you’ve this much time to offer a differing point of view I suggest you get a job, or go for a walk.

That's one of the stupidest replies I've seen on this forum, and that's saying something.
-
Ah , so I was right.

Considering where I'm at as I read your brain rot....no. You know, you didn't have to take it so personal when I called the majority of the playerbase bad. Just because your K/D is 0.67 and your raid report is really awful doesn't mean you're a bad person. If you suck at the game that just means there's room for improvement!
-
I didn’t think it was that good tbf…
-
Oh there's nothing good about being in the bottom 17% of players, don't worry.
-
lol, oh dear. Have a nice life.

I will!

mot getting any upvotes there. maybe you are not as much in the majority with you opinion as you believe

That's some peak reddit energy right there, my guy.

Edited by Zoidberg: 7/30/2024 4:41:51 PMGame is pretty. Really a silly point to argue this. SE is too complicated. Raids take 30 minutes, says the guy with a gold speed rank on RR. And 0 full clears of SE. Things should be accessible to solo play. In-game lfg is a literal waste of time unless they add better restrictions for joining a lobby. Destiny loot system to time invested is atrocious. Raid exotics are not great examples as they added ways to weigh that rng now.
Game is pretty. Really a silly point to argue this.
I didn't.
SE is too complicated. Raids take 30 minutes, says the guy with a gold speed rank on RR. And 0 full clears of SE.
I don't know why you're trying to tie me to the speed-running in this game, since I never said anything about it. A reasonable time for most raids is about an hour, unless you're learning them, and the shortest two should take about 30 minutes. That's what I stated.
Things should be accessible to solo play.
Modes that require a team require more people to do them. Shocking.
In-game lfg is a literal waste of time unless they add better restrictions for joining a lobby.
Then use 3rd party LFG. Use the discord, xbox lfg, or whatever other site is available to you.

Exactly. I was talking about SE, but you will always have people like him that just want to show their elitist attitude instead of having an intelligent conversation about how to improve the game. SE has been completed by a very small percentage of the D2 community. I’m sure that makes people like Datto feel good, but for the other 97% of the D2 community, it sucks. To invest so much time and resources into something only a small percentage will experience is neither sustainable, nor is it financially viable and I’m sure Sony will have a problem with it at some point.
To invest so much time and resources into something only a small percentage will experience is neither sustainable, nor is it financially viable and I’m sure Sony will have a problem with it at some point.
Only a small percentage of players have done a raid in general; the vast majority haven't done any. If it was a problem, they wouldn't have continued making raids for ten years.

Edited by Yoshi32123: 7/30/2024 6:28:35 AMIt’s the pinnacle of the light/dark saga and the culmination of raiding. If this raid was easy, I would’ve been incredibly upset. It’s hard for a reason, it’s not a raid to jump into for your first one or as a casual raider. For those inexperienced, it’s better to go run some of the older raids like VoG, RoN, or Crota since they’re on the easier side. Then later go run Vow and KF, some of the more difficult. SE is not too bad of a raid once you get strong experience in raid mechanics. I do agree with your solo-player removal of content/incentive stuff though.
