My perspective might be unwelcome, but;
Most sources of freeze or suspend require ability hits.
If that guardian wasn’t using freeze or suspend, they would be using a damaging ability, and instead of being stunned you would be under half health and likely lose the fight before you even have time to ADS.
At least with suspend, if your opponent is already wounded you stand a very good chance of killing them in the suspend.
I dunno, it’s never made me angry the way it seems to make other people angry.

A lot of the abilities that apply freeze and suspend are easy to use. Diamond Lance, Coldsnap nade, suspending nade, and that one hunter dive aspect on strand are all very easy to use.
-
Sibling, it’s destiny. Nothing in this game is difficult to use. Made by boomers and focussed tested by zoomers. Landing damaging abilities is just as easy as landing crowd controlling abilities.
-
So is your point that instead of being suspended or frozen, getting hit by a damaging ability means I have a higher chance of losing the gunfight than being frozen or suspended?
-
I said what I said. Getting hit by an ability leaves you with very little chance of winning the fight. Wether that ability stuns or damages you, either way your opponent committed a cool-down on you and landed it. Their reward is having an advantage against you. This isn’t a bug, these abilities need to be impactful. In some instances I actually prefer getting hit by crowd control abilities, because if I’m behind cover when I get hit, my opponent won’t be able to follow up. But if I get hit by an axion bolt, or sucked out by a vortex etc, I lose over half my health in the blink of an eye and now have to take a duel at disadvantage or find a way to escape. My point is, if you get hit by an ability you are very likely to lose the fight, regardless of what ability it is.
-
My point is that getting frozen or suspended basically guarantees a kill. If I get hit by an axion bolt I have a chance to win against the enemy (regardless of how hard that might be according to you.) Like you said, I’ll have less than half of my health if I try to duel or run away, but I am not dead. If you get frozen or suspended there pretty much is no chance of dueling or running away because it doesn’t allow you to duel or run away. No other abilities in the game leave you defenseless and at least give you a chance to fight back. That isn’t present when being frozen or suspended.

(According to you) you say, yes dude. In pvp if you have less than half of your health against a full health opponent, they have the advantage. This isn’t PVE, a player with advantage has to make a serious mistake for you to win. In that situation, what wins you the fight isn’t your own skill, it’s your opponent making a mistake. It’s in your head dude.

In PvP any ability that does damage doesn’t guarantee a kill besides a couple 1 off things such as a precision hit from the weighted knife, etc. Yes getting damaged by an ability gives the enemy player an advantage but it varies considering the skill gap factor. I have been absolutely crapped on and I have cropped on plenty of other players when they have the advantage based on hitting me with an ability. When getting frozen or suspended the factor of a skill gap is thrown out the window in that instance. You are defenseless and can’t do anything about it. There is no such thing as an advantage when there is no chance is winning involved. In the moment you are frozen and the opposing player can attack you it’s basically a 100% win rate for them.
-
Stasis and strand grenades also don’t guarantee a kill.
-
They leave you defenseless dude. You can’t move or shoot while frozen, and when suspended you can shoot but have accuracy penalties and you can’t move. Being frozen by a cold snap nade is pretty much a guaranteed kill for the opposing player and it’s basically the same thing with suspending nades.
