Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 10:26:38 AMThen they should make it freelance only. It's fair for everyone and they can balance the lobby better if it's freelance, even connection quality will be better when premade teams don't ruin things.
-
Then that drives away people who want to play with their friends. Bungie need to get more player in to PvP, not drive them away
-
Teams are driving solo players away. I think you could play any other mode with your friends, like Comp, Trials, Gambit, or PVE. Control and Quickplay would be better as Freelance. Most of the population is already playing it solo.
-
Not every solo player is so precious that a few duos will cause them to quit. The best solution isnt to immediately exclude a demographic which Destiny is built around in the first place, we should be discussing how best to encourage players back into PvP and get population levels back to a place where Freelance is viable again.
-
This 100% We should encourage to bring back more people so we can have a healthy balance of free lance mode and regular PvP. OP is just drilled into his head basically “Screw premades, make 6v6 for solos only” 💀
-
Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 10:22:23 PMWhen ever Freelance has been around, it has always been the healthier list when compared to the team alternative at the same time. Either there aren't enough teams, or teams dislike playing against other teams. For some reason, Bungie gave the finger to solo players to keep the few teams happy.
-
Edited by Golden: 7/31/2024 1:40:12 AMIf it’s the more “healthier” list why isn’t it in the game right now? Surely if anyone like bungie saw that if freelance brought more players than regular crucible, it’d be in the game right now as the main PvP game mode, not some game mode that gets brought like once a year then removed within a month? Personally I would love to see freelance return, loved it. But they really need to fix the core PvP issues before adding the mode back tbh, that’s my take on it.
-
Bungies decisions have varied occasionally when it comes to logic. Freelance was popular, and the the reason for removal was based on something else.
-
Like what? What else was the cause that removed it if it wasn’t for that?
-
I have no idea. Maybe some "play with friends" ideology, who knows. All I know freelance was populated, it played well, and team list was suffering.

Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 8:15:01 PMTeams ruin lobby balance and teams ruin connection quality. Everyone can play solo. Teams in Quickplay are for clowns who want easy wins and farm stats.

Edited by Bieltan: 7/30/2024 8:19:43 PM
Teams ruin lobby balance
Only if there is a big skill discrepancy between the players in the team, and even then the game matchmakes to the highest skilled player in it.
and teams ruin connection quality.
Only if the players on the team hail from different continents, which is fairly unusual as believe it or not people who play with friends also desire reasonable connectivity. Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 8:50:21 PMYou have played this game for over 500 hrs. I have played over 11000 hrs, and most of it in pvp. I've seen the highs, I've seen the lows. I have pretty good feel how things are actually, I'm not just assuming like you seem to be.

Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 8:47:15 PMAlso, why should majority (solos) have worse experience when it comes to balance, connection, and fairness just because some want to play with friends? The ones that want to play with friends can also play as a solo or choose any other activity like Comp, Trials, Gambit, or PVE to enjoy with their mates.

Also they dont screw connection, thats sheer copium on your part.
You have played this game for over 500 hrs. I have played over 11000 hrs, and most of it in pvp. I can say with an iron clad certainty I have wayyyy more than 500 hours in this game.

Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 9:06:54 PMIs this your account no? https://crucible.report/report/1/4611686018429563492 I'm bringing this up because my experience and knowledge about this subject greatly surpasses yours. For example, you might say something should not happen, or that it should not happen often, but I have seen it happen often.
-
Ah I see, you're only counting time played in PvP. Now I'm with you. Yes, I "only" have 500 hours into PvP, mainly as by the time I picked up Destiny 10ish years ago I was fully burned out on online PvP. However I have played enough previously and on Destiny to know what I'm talking about. I've played both solo and with friends. Facing a duo or even a trio never really fazed me before. If you didnt show me the roster I probably wouldnt have known in most cases. I tried teaming up with a friend way more skilled than me and I tapped out after one lobby that was matchmade at his skill level, I was fully out of my depth. You arent facing god tier players being brought down by their friends, you arent facing people from timbuktu... and more to the point you're trying to prevent friends from gaming together in a casual playlist.

Edited by Nimune: 7/30/2024 9:15:46 PMYou can't just admit that you're wrong or that you don't know enough about the subject, which would bring up the point why to start arguing to begin with. I'm done here.

You were done the moment you started replying to this poster when your ego wouldn't let you even remotely comprehend what you are replying to.

Fair enough. I sometimes try to see the good in people.
-
FWIW I do hope Freelance comes back for the people who want it. PvPs in a bad place right now and thats purely down to playercount. PvE/PvP used to be a 60/40 split. Its more like 75/25 now.
