No reason I should ever be defenseless in PvP at all.

It's a question of playstyle and stopping your opponents actions with suspend or freeze, giving you the upper hand in a duel, is as valid as any other playstyle and tactic to choose from.

Because those are in game mechanics?
-
1 Replysuspend you can fight back, many stasis freezes are either due to you being slowed too much, in which case just get out of the turret or duskfield, and if a warlock uses its melee to freeze you, you can't really complain, cuz that was decent aim and timing needed because it doesnt track
No reason I should ever be defenseless in PvP at all.
You aren’t defenseless when suspended and you can easily break out freeze

9 RepliesMy perspective might be unwelcome, but; Most sources of freeze or suspend require ability hits. If that guardian wasn’t using freeze or suspend, they would be using a damaging ability, and instead of being stunned you would be under half health and likely lose the fight before you even have time to ADS. At least with suspend, if your opponent is already wounded you stand a very good chance of killing them in the suspend. I dunno, it’s never made me angry the way it seems to make other people angry.

13 RepliesReally? Frozen and suspended in PVP lasts literally only 2 seconds. Frozen is damn near impossible to do, and if it does happen, they deserve the kill. It's at the point where you'll -blam!- about guns being able to kill you. Let's talk about that. 🙄
-
At the very least there's absolutely no reason to rip me out of first person, having to hip fire is bad enough, but they wanted it to be in third person too?
-
6 RepliesIt’s bad. I just put the controller down when that stuff happens. No point in even bothering at that point. There’s too many bs things in crucible these days that have drastically soured the experience for a lot of players.
-
I don't mind suspension because I can at least shoot back. Stasis was a mistake.
-
8 RepliesIt’s the space magic… personally I find it hilarious to freeze someone…
-
I find it funny to freeze a hunter aping me with a shotgun or a titan and just freeze em again and again and emote then shatter them
-
Tbh I rarely see people using suspension but freezing I've seen over a million times and I can agree that it should be nerf because how can child snap freeze instantly but dusk field can't do the same or glacier can't do the same. If one can freeze instantly, they all should be able to freeze instantly
-
2 RepliesSuspended doesn’t make you defenseless. It makes you more vulnerable, but there are plenty of times that I have won a duel despite being suspended. Freezing though, does leave you defenseless, but you are frozen for much less time, and weapons do reduced damage to you while frozen.
-
3 RepliesYou can still be Scorched, Jolted, and Suppressed. Ever Subclass has it's negative effect on other players that make them stand out. Frozen and Suspended are just the ones for Stasis and Strand.
-
I just think of freeze like a fusion nade. But that warlock triple freeze is a bit much.
-
I disagree. I think it adds to the experience.
-
You’d hate to play me as a behemoth main. If I get bored of that I use abeyant leaps 😂
-
If everyone on this forum got their way, PvP would consist of nothing but emotes and headers off the map. Why does Bungie even keep the mode in the game?
-
Destiny 2 pvp is like cod with abilities spam i just stopped questioning it
-
2 RepliesI think you mean titans Lance and coldsnap grenade being too strong because in this current meta, there are bigger issues.
-
Completely frozen shouldn't happen in PvP, I get being stuck on the spot until breaking out or strand suspension but to be Completely defenceless when hit by a coldsnap still is so wild.
-
When the stasis came out.. I knew completely that Bungie did not care, test, value, understand ..anything about their PVP. The freezing was just insane. I stopped playing for some time. The strand seems way more balanced.. I've defeated people while being suspended.. but its movement is rapid. Both are clearly amazing achievements technically in an online gaming world for PVE for PVE, imo.. those stasis crystals are structures you can create and it persists in the world.. you can stand on them.. with strand its the movement tech with grapple... very nice technical achievements ...but being frozen, defenseless, watched and then taken out.. worst PVP feeling. I also just hate Silence and Squall - is it following me.. is it homing in on me.. how long does this f'n thing last? It brings to mind the quote... you asked yourselves if you could make it.. but did you ask yourselves if you should? Intro of Stasis was the beginning of the Vaulting/Sunsetting and the downfall of action/adventure of D2

Edited by EarthlyJaguar0: 7/29/2024 9:02:40 PMThat’s why stasis is banned in scrimms
-
in a movement based shooter, it never made any -blam!- sense.
