D1 Combined Arms is amazing, but it requires bigger maps than anything we have in D2.

We need combined Arms to return, but for it to be a 9v9 mode and to have those large maps, and maybe even larger maps. We could have Controlled Combined Arms, Tribute Combined Arms (Tribute my actually be good with combined Arms) Rift, or any other special game mode (Game Modes are different from Game Modifiers. Combined Arms would be a modifier like Mayhem, while mode is defined by the objective of the game, Like control, tribute, etc)

Considering Bungie’s lower focus on PvP map making, I can’t see Combined Arms making a return, sadly.

One thing I always make a point to draw attention to since Onslaught is Patrol spaces are now on the table. They brought in Mothyards as a map because they lacked anything large in the Cosmodrome. That a look at some of the patrol space areas though the lens of Combined Arms play and you may begin to see some possibilities

Which sucks, as some of those maps were genuinely enjoyable.

Absolutely. I go back into D1 Crucible from time to time and Combined Arms is still a huge amount of fun. I prefer D1 Crucible in general. It’s just the population is too low to play anything other than the weekly playlist (all other playlists are dead).

Yeah. The reason why I think player count within the Combined Arms mode should be increased to a 9v9 is due to the fact that people already dislike just how large certain maps already are (disjunction) but the issue with those maps is not how large, but time to engagement. In Combined Arms, you would have sparrows and ways to enter an engagement much, much faster. Plus with the increased player count, the engagements would be more consistent and much more fruitful.

The vehicles and cap points do a good job of quickly getting players to the action. I’m happy with 6v6 CA, but a 9v9 version would be good to try too.
