Look, if they have to do a type of robe, or some type of piece of armor that hangs off the character, they could do a short jacket that is distinct enough. Warlocks just need more diversity. It’s hard enough to show off the legs and even then, most look bad.

Hm? I don't see a cape, hood, shoulder plating, and horizontal visor helmet on that Warlock. It's a shirt and pants. Hunters mostly have armored vests and bulkier leg armor, with some being the same size as Titan leg armor 🤔

This obviously isn't going to be a 1-for-1 comparison: Helmet: A resemblance to the Hinterlands mask, just without the jawbones Chest: Intrepid Discovery Arms: Couturier Grips Legs: Gumshoe Gumption Nothing can be done about the cloak, though sometimes I wish it were optional. Still, I think if you looked at those pieces you'd notice quite a resemblance with a few minor alterations. There's probably some that are even closer, but I wasn't up to looking through every piece of Hunter armor, lol.

Still bulkier. The Warlock style I prefer is slimmer. Hunters don't have rugged shirts and pants trademarked lol we already have the Wild Hunt Vestement and Righteous chest which are basically a mash of hunter vests and Titan marks. There's also the Ketchkiller robes. Two rare examples of Bungie cutting Warlocks some slack. I just wish they remembered to design the back of the Wildhunt Vestments too 🤦 There some outliers like what you listed but typically it's the cloth to armor ratio difference, class items and visor style helmets but obviously there are some outliers there too.

I didn't say the look was "trademarked" by Hunters, only that the image you presented looked quite similar to a Hunter, sans cloak. That's all.

Ah well, not to me. Looks like high quality last city gear. People at the Tower and Farm wear very similar outfits. Even Titans have set or to like that. It's a universal style.
