The reward system is fine given most of the gear is either OK or only really good in PvP.
Theres great alternatives for every single piece of Trials gear.

The reward system rarely hands out any loot to solo players when they lose a Trials match. There are perks like Slickdraw on Igneous Hammer that work against what I'm going for. I have yet to find an alternative to the Igneous Hammer without tradeoffs.
-
Rose, eyasluna, lunas howl, crimils dagger, wardens law, bold endings, palindrome, sightline survey All solid HCs. There are many alternatives, also loot still seems fine.
-
All of the options you listed have tradeoffs. Most of them are in the kinetic slot, and I have no good pairing for them. LH struggles with range, palindrome has terrible perks, sightline survey has the same TTK as Igneous but requires more hits at its worst.
-
Igneous has tradoffs. Its a 120 which means it has a slower TTK and tends to have worse stability. Lunas with the right roll has great range. You can pair it with a matador, loaded question, main ingredient, plug one, tresspasser, duality, heliocentric, drang. Theres many good energy pairings for a kinetic slot HC. You could even use sturm and drang given both are solid and sturm can very easily 2 tap given it just takes gettig a drang kill. You arent locked to only Igneous, it isnt the greatest HC ever, it actually loses to 140s if youre in their range and if youre not then you need to worry about pulses and scouts which will out range igneous most of the time.
-
All of the options you present have some sort of catch to them. No matter how you put it, enough people have tested Igneous Hammer and it gets results. I verified those results myself with the rolls that I had, and it is just that much better even with a 3/5 roll. I'm not settling for a loadout that puts me at a disadvantage, no matter how hard you try to convince me.
-
It doesnt put you at a disadvantage. You just dont want to hear anything other than your own opinion. I love HCs and i love Igneous, i use it myself but by no means is it the best HC. The TTK is 1 second flat, other HCs can achieve fmthat or faster and many recent HCs are better overall. Igneous has a good feel and solid range, ill give it that but its slow. On smaller maps it loses out, on tighter maps it loses out. I read another of your replies and i saw that you wanted to use Conditional with you HC pairing, why Conditional specifically? With the nerfs to Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn, Conditional Finality really isnt much better than your average precision frame shotgun, you can trade it out for Fractethyst, Matador-64 or Someday (stasis, arc, kinetic) and actually have more range and a better spread. First off, you can run an energy 120, 140, 150 or a 180 (in some cases) and then Conditional or a kinetic slot precision frame shotgun. Examples of solid energy HCs are: 120s: Igneous Hammer Bottom Dollar Combined Action Targeted Redaction 140s: Nation of Beasts Annual Skate Lunas Howl Exalted Truth Palindrome Waking Vigil 180s: Posterity Sightline Survey Word of Crota Alternatively you could run a Kinetic HC and either a Matador-64 or a solid sidearm such as Heliocentric QSc or Drang. Examples of good Kinetics are as follows: 120s: Malediction Round Robbin Steady Hand True Prophecy Crimils Dagger Sturm (when paired with a Drang) 140s: Rose Eyasluna Judgement Better Devils Kept Confidence Spare Rations Midnight Coup Thorn Ace of Spades Hawkmoon 180s: Vulpecula D.F.A. Obviously not every listed HC is at the top of the meta nor are they all easy to aquire. Some have been slept on for something new and some have been over taken but are more common. The best to use for each catagory are as follows: 120s: Igneous Round Robbin Crimils Dagger Sturm 140s: Palindrome Lunas howl Rose Kept Confidence Midnight Coup Thorn Ace of Spades Hawkmoon 180s: Sightline Survey Vulpecula The absolute top for each (ignoring exotics) in energy slot would be Igneous, Lunas Howl and Soghtline Survey For kinetic slot it would be Crimils Dagger, Rose and Vulpecula. You do have a range to choose from with all of them being on par with Igneous (the best 120 energy) with the 140s being better due to usually being used in the same range but having a quicker TTK. Honestly dont use whats meta just because its meta. The meta doesnt always mean the best, it just means the most popular at the time. Conditional has been meta for ages but is worse than any precision frame shotgun. You talked about a loot issue, people gave you alternatives. You can still use Igneous but you have far more to use while you chase your god roll, some you can craft and in the case of Sightline Survey its better than igneous. I also ignored 3 strong kinetic HCs, Bold Endings, Wardens Law and, of course, Crimson.

You say that Igneous isn't that good, but say it's the best later in the same post. You ramble about how X weapon or loadout Y is good, completely ignoring the fact that I specifically said in my last post I'm not settling for something that is just good enough - I want the best chance at winning. Also, I'm not going to spend time farming boring PvE content with the current abysmal drop chance of the god roll for those legendaries, Conditional was the exception because it was farmable and has a 5% drop chance. The chances of me getting a Matador-64 roll that matches the performance of the Conditional are well below that.
The meta doesnt always mean the best
In this context, meta is an acronym that stands for most effective tactic available. It's in the name, it means the best, the most effective thing at getting the job done. Unless you mean self-referential, which makes zero sense in this context. If you like sitting on the respawn screen, good for you. I've had enough of that. I use the meta because it fits my play style and allows me to take advantage of my strong points. At this point we both agree that Igneous is the top pick, and I gave you the reason I want to use it. Save yourself the effort and stop yapping.

I said its the top legendary 120 energy HC. Its a solid weapon but given most HC duels occur in range of 140s and 180s Igneous actually loses out more now. 140s take the same shots to kill but under a smaller timeframe. Meta in this case does not mean the best, more people have a god roll Igneous than other options because of how long its been around. I also dont tend to be sat on the respawn screen all the time, i play trials and im not actually bad at it, i also use multiple different HCs. If you dont wanna farm then why farm for igneous? Go craft a sightline survey as its faster and takes less farming.

Round Robin, crimils dagger, combined action.
-
The first two are in the kinetic slot, but I want to use Conditional Finality. Combined Action does not have Precision Instrument, so I can't get the 2c1b against T7 resilience or above. And none of those options have anywhere near the same amount of bullet magnetism as Igneous Hammer.
-
Weird how you want to run a meta exotic that isn’t from PvP but you say trials gives out the good gear 😂
-
I never said raid loot isn't good, I said in another reply it's good.
-
You don't need precision two have kill clip and 2 have adagio perfectly valid options, but i see how this is going, you have a way you think it is and you'll stick to it. Not worth my time, experience be damned. Have fun.
-
KC and adagio require a kill to be active. Adagio also slows down the TTK against T10 resilience to 1.2s. PI works from neutral. Have a good one! 👋

If you want igneous go get it. Farm on a wealth card and just focus it or just use one of the many, many alternatives.
-
I've been doing that for a while now, but Trials engrams rarely drop outside vendor rank-ups, which are few and far between.
-
Then use a wealth card, sit on it without resetting after 7 wins you get lots of rep. The alternative is going for the equally strong options from different archetypes that are craftable, like sightline survey, austringer, round robbin, kept confidence. Or going for a rose which is easier to farm.
-
The strategy I go for more often for is stacking with LFGs, 50% chance for an engram at the end of each match, in addition to the benefits on the card. Reiterating here that I'm not looking for a usable weapon, I'm looking for the best and that's Igneous. I don't care about the other weapons you keep mentioning, they're worse, or in the case of Sightline Survey, garbage.
