Thought it would be best if I asked this question on here.
I know that if your bungie name violates the TOS or something or other, the name will be forcefully changed to “Guardian” with a random 4 numbers but I can’t say for certain if mine did.
Reason I ask is because I’ve had the Bungie name “RhulksDamnFineLegs” for quite a while now. It would make sense if it told me whilst trying to make the name all that time ago that it isn’t allowed, it’s just the fact of how long I’ve had it and no problems.
Also, when it said it changed my name, the pop up was the same pop up when crossplay was first released, alongside bungie names.
So can someone tell me if this is a glitch or if my name actually got flagged and changed, despite how long it’s seemed to be acceptable?
Hoping someone can help me out, thanks!

Hello there, The in-game message is misleading. A name reset to default like that means it was reported, reviewed by Bungie and reset to"Guardian####", that indicates that some part of the name broke the Code of Conduct or the Bungie Name Policy, was filtered, and can no longer be used. When that happens, you get the new name cross play message in-game as notice of the name change. You can try a different name if you have not previously changed it. If the system is not allowing more changes, there is no way to override it.
