Today I logged into the game after the 8.0.0.8 update and a message appeared saying my name had been changed to "Guardian" and a random number. The reasons for this were apparently:
1) I logged in for the first time.
2) I recently changed my name.
Neither of these are true. I haven't changed my name since I first played Destiny 2 in 2018.
My name "FreshHummel" (Hummel means bumblebee in German) has not, to my knowledge, violated Bungie's rules in the last 6 years and still does not.
So why was my name changed?

Hi Im SwatBungie fan forever. Here since 2008. - old
Bungie Names have not existed for 6 years, so that’s impossible. They also did not exist in 2018. It doesn’t matter how long you had it, Bungie will remove it if it violates their policies. If your name was changed, it’s because it violated Bungie’s code of conduct. Bungie will not tell you why it was removed for security reasons, but you can review the policies you agreed to. You should also note that Bungie fully reserves the right to moderate the game as they see fit. If you have any name changes left, you can change your name to something else. If you don’t, then you’re stuck with the default name. You cannot appeal a forced name change.
