First and foremost, I am not quitting the game (at least not yet), I just want to share my experience as an invested player and why I feel the need to take a break from the game.
First and foremost, I'm going to be very direct I am a Titan player. I love punching things, I love eating crayola (lime is a guilty pleasure), and I love to wear two tons of steel plate armor. Titan is the class that enjoy playing the most and Identify with. A lot of the reasons I have for taking a break are related to the recent performance issues of titans in both PvE/PvP (I play on PC for context).
I don't want to beat an already dead horse, so I will spare regurgitating most sentiments on the overall performance of titans in the current endgame meta. If you want to understand a little bit more about what I am going on about here are a couple of links to some sources that go into detail about various issues with titans.

As someone -blam!- just wants to play the class they prefer, it feels really bad looking at all the cool builds on other classes and only having a few strong ones that dont even really compare. It takes almost everything down to specific weapons, armor mods, and aspects/fragments to even get to the level other prismatic classes are at (which take less setup). Titan right now feels like playing a class without a purpose.
Moving towards the topic of PvP, Im not going to blame hunter spam, Im not going to blame healing rifts, and I am not going to blame anything related to meta choices. It is what it is. I just feel the need to express my dissatisfaction with Titans in PvP right now.
One of the many frustrations I have had playing this class in any competitive lobby like trials and competitive is the severe lack of meaningful utility and movement. In trials specifically I could not help but notice that the most effective way to gain an advantage is to beat the opponent to better angles via dashing, skating, and grappling. It makes it hard to play with my team for initial picks when they are a full 4s ahead of me. I'm not sure what bungie can do to fix this, but it definitely is a pain point I have noticed.
The last pain-point I wanted to mention was melee consistency specifically on PC. For some reason on PC, it feels like melees don't work properly. Melees consistently manage to miss and whiff targets even when clearly in range. When using a controller it feels like both crosshair friction and melee lung play a vital role into making the punch land. I cant prove it, but I think this may be the reason we whiff so much. I wish bungie would take issues like this more seriously considering there is an entire class in the game that relys on this mechanic. Everyone regardless of class would love for their melees to work consistently.
If you bothered to read all this I appreciate the fact that you at least did read and listen I understand that many people may have varying opinions and that alright, everyone is entitled to one. I just wanted to share my experiences and thoughts on how the current state of the game as well as well as some of the things that I feel take a toll on how much I enjoy the game currently.
Ya'll have a great evening.
Sincerely, your local crayola consumer

Haven’t played since last Friday. I know, not a lot not even a week but it feels great to take breaks from time to time.
-
1 ReplyFirst and foremost - thanks for the feedback. First and foremost - I am still having a blast and enjoy playing the game.
-
I’m probably going to increase my fiber and water intake for more frequent and high quality poops.

Edited by everwilling: 7/24/2024 7:23:33 PMI’m a Titan main and Titan just feels really underwhelming this season . Few tricks which are pretty mediocre compared to what Hunter and warlock have . Ajax in first descendent is really fun to play .I am not playing much now and only pvp so again Titan just feels flat .

10 RepliesYou can’t say first and foremost twice. Well you can but it just looks stupid. And to confirm my suspicions I skipped to the last sentence, saw a “Y’all” and had a good chuckle. I get it, you’re from Alabama or whatever the -blam!- hillbilly state in America and you just can’t help saying “Y’all” correct? Even when you yawn, you don’t yawn normally, it comes out as a Y’aaaaaallll There’s a universal version of American you could use, or English rather, it’s what we Europeans do. See you next week when you’re back.

4 RepliesThe witness being dealt with has made me care pretty much nil for these seasons/episodes. The story is lackluster and I couldn’t care less about the vex.
-
Take a break enjoy other games or whatever. Maybe you will be back. Maybe not but I wish you the best guardian.
-
I just uninstalled yesterday bc I don’t like where the game is and I need room to try other games out. Might be back; who knows. XDefiant has been fun though
-
6 RepliesI recently finished the uncharted series

Bacon flavored Crayola is the only acceptable choice. Miss me with that Lime BS. Joke aside, it's fine to take a break. It's good to have other games in rotation.
-
Their choices for exotic perks on the titan class item are not ideal, making for either super powerful, or plain boring builds. I personally think getting HOIL with Scars would be really, really good. Otherwise, HOIL/Synthoceps is the obvious go to. But yeah, Titan is a little underwhelming as far as build variety.

Have a good break man, at least I know I took some over the years.
-
Take a break , enjoy something else . With each break , I enjoy other games for a longer period of time . Some older games , a couple of newer ones, and I'm happy . I really don't miss destiny that much .
-
I have started playing Rise of Iron again and am quite enjoying it! Much more fun and relaxing than D2.
-
2 RepliesAlways take a break. Play other games and you will be surprised how good D2 is. There is no competition for this genre. Even with it's flaw, D2 never be far from my roaster. I do play other games from time to time to refresh D2. It always works.👍

Hang up your mark for a while. We're not going to see anything substantially change for 6 to 12 months. I've been enjoying FF14 , Once Human and they're filling the void nicely. Can't say the same for how awful D2 felt post TFS.

2 RepliesThere is nothing to do but collect guns you will never use

4 RepliesThis forum isn't an airport. You don't need to announce your departure.

HITACHI-NR83ADerpPerks is #1 - old
I’m glad I got banned on psn for a month. Needed the break -
1 ReplyThat’s good. D2 is a game best played seldomly imo. You can take 2 years off and come back and essentially almost everything is still the same system-wise other than meta/end game changes that can easily be adjusted to. All the other core features remain the same, all you are missing out on is cosmetics and seasonal stuff, but none of it is essential content.

See you next week 👌

datto is a clown. this moron claimed that final shape was the best dlc ever. he cannot be taken seriously

See you tomorrow anyway

You broke this up into paragraphs and Titans speak in walls of text, because of walls are strong like Titans should be. You're a warlock in disguise.

Edited by Ferus Lux: 7/22/2024 6:37:08 PMHow is lime better than oranges flavor notes? The pigment blocks light better and they maintain that controlled, oaty factory manufactured flavor longer. Brings back so many memories of that Daito Art supplies store that got destroyed when Ghaul hit us 🤤
