  • I understand that. I'm trying to understand how the application decided it lost connection. Is it a keep alive process that runs on a specific Port? Is there a behavior of the game that may cause Anti Virus software to over inspect packets, slowing down traffic?

  • Clearly there's a polling/pinging/keep-alive going on, but Bungie keeps specifics secret for obvious reasons, and yes, AV inspecting packets can be a cause for problems like Weasel/Anteater. Are you both on PCs?

  • Both are PCs, built nearly identical, hardwired, with dedicated IPs. The only thing I haven't done is explicit port forwarding since Bungie built around UPnP.

If you are using dedicated IPs, UPnP won't work well (or, at all), since it requires the use of DHCP.
