I have been a titan main for as long as I have played the game, and had my fair share of frustration with how prismatic titan turned out. From aspects that are not class defining to things that are just bad, the kit that we got was not the power fantasy that we got was not what we wanted.
The there is no other way to put it than the titan kit needs to be completely re-worked.
Aspects:
Change Consecration Slam to Sol Invictus. Consecration Slam is really good, but makes it very difficult to add other aspects that are melee based due to how strong it is. Make Sol Invictus create sunspots on melee kills, but give the buff and debuff of the super you have equipped. So for void, while you are standing in the sun spot, you get an over shield, and enemies in the sun spot get weakened. This makes for an easier way to actually build craft.
Change Drengr’s Lash to Flechette Storm. Make Flechette storm apply the debuff of the melee you have equipped, so solar would scorch, void would make volatile, and arc would jolt. This should have to stay in the subclass type of the melee ability you have selected. Consecration Slam changes the icon to solar, Fletchers storm would have to keep the same element. This ones pretty simple.
Change Unbreakable to Controlled Demolition. Hitting a target with an ability gives them the debuff of that ability. Solar gives scorch, stasis gives slow, void gives volatile. Further damage or kills on that target spreads the effect. Being near target that die while having the debuffs give the player that debuffs key word buff, such as over-shield, restoration, or amplified.
Change Diamond Lance to Tectonic Harvest. Make it so that Tectonic Harvest works with any debuff, so a kill on a scorched target would also generate the shard. The current prismatic kit for titan has no aspects or fragments for ability regeneration, and this changes that.
Change Knockout to Juggernaut. I don’t think any changes are needed, just give it more health ONLY IN PVE. There has to be a way to get closer to the enemies if we’re supposed to melee them.
Melee abilities:
Change the solar Shoulder Charge to hammer. Hammer is nerfed enough that it doesn’t really matter, but it was class defining and also good for add clear. (If bungie wants to remove the cool down, make it so it doesn’t give cure unless it kills the target it hits) this is the only melee that needs to be changed.
All of the grenades and fragments are fine, and pretty good, but the only thing left is the supers, and there is no changing them without a complete rework.
Bungie, even if you don’t use any of this, and decide to do some other stuff, please just make my favorite class competitive again. I don’t want to have to run Hazardous Propulsions all the time.
Thoughts from other crayon snorters or the rest of the community?

Agree with most of it but they gave us stasis mele which is the worst mele in video game history. I switched over to alt warlock snapped my fingers and melted the room. The last bonk hammer i threw bounced harmlessly off a dregg i picked it up (waited for cool down) he dodged and now where's my hammer? Soooo lame. Using titan reminds me of when i took my german Shepard to the vet to get neutered.

2 RepliesWe can't talk about what we think will fix titans but at the end of the day, bungie doesn't care about the smallest playerbase. The only effort titans will get is minimal to none from devs. Even this so called buff doesn't mean much for 2 reasons it comes with a twist instead of a full buff and also they'll buff hammers but who uses hammers on buses foe dps? Not to mention its survivability and uptime nerf last year. I'm getting bored of this one sided game

I like this. My problem with Prismatic Titan isn’t that it only has bad abilities to choose from, its that barely any of the abilities pair well together

1 ReplyI'm a titan main.... And since TFS dropped I've hardly played him. Been effectively maining warlock Titan is currently -blam!- So so bad.compared to rest

1 ReplyThis sounds worse. Are you sure you’re not some hunter main?

1 ReplyI just gave up and went back to Striker Titan. No cool new stuff for me. Back to Greaves 💪🏻

I think you've got some interesting points here but there's one major contention I have: I don't think, under any circumstances, that Prismatic will be changed. I think it can only be expanded. They've already retooled all these aspects to work with prismatic, and the aspects have direct tie-ins to exotic class item perks. Bungie is not about to remove them. But they can add more aspects into the subclass. I think what titans need is another aspect for sustain, which would leave Sol Invictus, Controlled Demolition, and Banner of War. Banner would be a nightmare to balance around, so probably not that. The ideas with the other two that you've written up are neat, but I'd rather either aspect stick to ability kill / elemental debuffed enemy kill results in sunspot / heals nearby players for either, respectively. The idea of a sunspot granting me Amplified because I have thundercrash on sounds kind of gross, in my opinion. I'd just stick to restoration and ability recharge. I don't think the Harvest aspects will make it to any prismatic class, I think Bungie wants the stasis shard gameplay loop specific to the Stasis subclass. I think Prismatic would outperform Stasis in every way if it had access to Harvest. Fletchette Storm would run into the issue of being incompatible with Consecration, since both are sliding melee attacks. Maybe Bungie would be willing to try to code this in, probably not. Also, how would Fletchette ability cost work if you're not running Frenzied Blade with its 3 charges? Juggernaut could be a really good addition to Prismatic if Bungie figured out how to give it some love in PvE. Maybe an elemental explosion when it depletes? If you melee out of juggernaut with energy remaining it provides an elemental debuff based on super type? If I had my choice, I think I'd argue to get Controlled Demolition, Roaring Flames, and Juggernaut added to Prismatic. Sustain, damage, and defense options to round out our strange, disjointed subclass.

I just like that I’m reading a titan buff suggestion that isn’t just “give Titans Banner of War”

Edited by Weasel, Herald of Misery: 7/16/2024 8:05:17 PMYou got some nice ideas there. Started TFS on Titan and it already felt weird unlocking prismatic. Now going back and unlocking it on Hunter and Warlock... I was surprised to see their toolkits made sense and had great synergy's. Sol Invictus could have been a great toolkit in prismatic, indeed. Not a big fan of the new void aspect as there is really not much to build into. It at least could have made hit targets volatile.
