Soda in the western states. Down south they call all sodas cokes. Not sure why.
-
No matter the liquid...its called a beverage.
-
I’m from California where saying Pop can get you yelled at by someone. Yes I’ve seen this happen it’s ridiculous.
-
I usually just name the drink, but I call it pop at the annual Al Capone Alcoholics Anonymous Sober Roleplaying Festival
-
Pop It's more of a midwestern term, and I'm perfectly ok with that. Soda sounds too snobby to me. Now then, calling every carbonated soft drink "Coke", that's just stupid.

I have called soda "soda" for 25 of the 26 years that I've lived. The one year that I made an exception was when I lived in a backwater rural town in New York that thought soda was called "pop" for some asinine reason.

Neither. They’re both fizzy drinks.
-
Never heard pop being used before.
-
soda because I’m not a -blam!- freak
-
I use them both interchangeably, but I think I say soda more often now. Used to only say pop until I moved around a bit.

I live in the south so Coke and Pepsi can be used for any soft drink. Have a Sprite? “Hey, grab me my Coke(and/or Pepsi) over thur.” And you cannot forget Sodie-Pop
-
It doesn't need to be one or the other, what about soda pop? That's a thing.
