Is being in a clan worth it nowadays?

As someone who’s been a Destiny player for a long time and went from clan to clan over that span of time, I’m just not really sure anymore. I’ve seen many accounts of people finding groups and clans, making friends and overall having a great experience with it, and it leaves me confused. I’ve NEVER had any kind of experience of that nature, EVER. All I’ve felt is the vitriol towards players like myself from the developers and the playerbase for us not already having friends to play with or refusing to use lfg for reasons that the community proves themselves. And as somebody with ASD, negative social experiences have a more profound effect on me than other individuals may have. For example, when the Cooperative-Focused missions and Dual Destiny were made available, the community sentiment towards solo players was quite harsh, simply because we didn’t like the fact that communicating with unknown players was a forced requirement to complete those activities, even though things like lfg are filled to the brim with the very reasons we remain as solo players. All of that proved this to me: Destiny is good to play with friends, and HORRIBLE for making friends. With clans being one of this game’s primary methods of meeting and playing with new people, I don’t know if it’s worth rolling those dice once more and risking getting burnt again… (Sidenote: Not posting this in the main forums. I already know the kind of response this would get from there.)

The fact that its July 24 and ppl are STILL clan searching, tells you everything.
