Hey there, this is not a bug.
To unlink an account, you need to completely cancel cross-save first. It is not possible to 'just' unlink a single account from your setup. Because you're required to cancel cross-save, the Silver cooldown is being shown correctly, if Silver was purchased on any of the accounts, including Steam.

Edited by Athena: 7/5/2024 9:51:28 AMYou're right; that was incorrect for me to say. I meant that in the authentication process for disabling cross-save, it shows as a red flag on my Epic Games account, not my Steam account. Everything should be authenticated; I also attempted this by logging in via my Epic Games account. The point of confusion is that the error message is being shown on the Epic account, not the Steam one. Is the only way really to create a new Steam account, re-buy everything, and then create a new Bungie account entirely?

Edited by EckyThump: 7/5/2024 9:58:32 AMYour Epic Games account is the Active Account in your setup, so any Silver purchases from any source - this can include season passes from an annual pass edition bought on any platform - will have been attached to your EGS account. I suspect that's why they show against EGS and not Steam, if Steam is where you bought it. What's the end result you're aiming for? If it was possible to remove your EGS account from your setup, that would mean you'd lose access to your current character set, as they originate from Epic. Your Steam and XBox accounts would lose access to the current characters that you have been playing on; any time you've played on Steam, has had you logging into these EGS characters and making progress on them.

... That's horrible, I hope this gets changed sometime. Genuinely frustrating qualifiers

Edited by EckyThump: 7/5/2024 10:01:02 AMEven if the purchase counted against Steam, you'd still be in exactly the same position - unable to cancel cross-save and unable to unlink anything until the cooldown expired. I may have added more to my previous post while you were replying, could you maybe tell me what you're trying to do exactly, what's the end result?

My end goal is disabling cross-save; I don't mind if the characters are removed. I understand the logic of why it won't let me, I guess; I appreciate you explaining it. I wish there were a way to bypass the cooldown - maybe by having Bungie support bypass it on request.

The 90 day wait (as explained to you several times in the cross-save setup) is a security feature to stop people from abusing the system. There will never be a way to bypass it. All users are required to wait the stated times. You can still play Destiny 2 and access all paid content during this time. -
If it's a security feature, then authenticate the user. Making them wait 90 days because silver was purchased semi-recently is ridiculous. I get this is how it is at the moment, but it's anti-customer

Bungie has no access to any of our account details, so it’s impossible for them to setup any sort of user authentication. Also, this is not “anti-consumer”. People aren’t reading what’s clearly in front of them, that’s all. If they did, they would know all about this 90 day wait. Nothing wrong with the system. You can still play the game and access all your paid content.
