That game has the most predatory micro transactions I've seen in a long time. They make the Eververse store look like amateurs.

So many ppl out here giving false statements about the game... Lmao. It could possibly be viewed as predatory to the weak minded, lazy gamers who rather swipe a card than enjoy a game....
-
How so? I’ve been playing it for a few hours and it hasn’t once asked me for money.

People have a problem with the expensive option of being able to buy characters.
People have a problem
Need no further clarification.

You don't have to purchase anything in the game, it's like Warframe where everything can be obtained, it's just a matter of whether or not you want to wait the amount of time it will take.
-
You forgot destiny having DLC (which isn't really a DLC), season pass, dungeon keys and event upgrade card on top of eververse. For a supposed to be free to play, there's so much paywall that it should be classified as a demo
-
Not even close. Nice try.

In this respect, The first Descendant is currently really better than Destiny 2. Yes, you can spend money on stuff, but you can also easily unlock it as you progress through the game. In Destiny, however, you can't even play without spending money.

The gacha game has you all blinded

Yep. Game came out people thought it was good but now people are seeing how it's somehow more predatory than mobile games. Also it's one of the only games that appears (Dunno if it's a bug) to force data collection. Due to laws games generally ask and while some will hide the fact you can say no they still allow you to say no.

How’s it predatory
-
Short version is making important items tough to obtain while dangling a skip option in your face. Also while some games would add paid colors it was generally cheap and a one time buy however after Halo Infinite launched games started getting....bolder. Now it costs way more for colors and this game is one of those. Also unlike games like infinite you have to pay multiple times imagine the old D2 shader system but you have to pay for them. Also just like infinite people are defending this and this means they're gonna get bolder and probably increase the price or add more microtransactions. Obviously there's more issues like cosmetics costing as much as league of legend skins (Like 2-5x the usual price of the f2p games) but I don't feel like going super deep on it rn.

Edited by Astrosa: 7/6/2024 10:20:20 AMFor a game much like warframe it makes sense. I don’t really see a problem, it’s a free to play game, they gotta make money somehow. The characters can be unlocked by playing the game for those that have a problem with it. Optional buy that can be skipped completely and doesn’t impact you at all. The battle pass liek destiny gives you the gun later on. You can unlock colors for free, I’ve gotten a lot.

Edited by Talia Sendua: 7/4/2024 11:37:55 PMAnd while that is true, yes. It is still a matter of fact the more greedy company does compensations for unintentional server downtime at all, compared to Bungie. Kinda funny when someone worse than Bungie in greed is treating their players better.

Nexon isn't a friend they rely on good will to survive because every game they make scammers. You know Pocketpair? They're similar in an aspect. Pocketpair and Nexon both jump to trendy new games but there's a difference in how they do it. Pocketpair aims to be an indie version of big trendy games while Nexon aims to be a big pc/console mobile game market. A. Mobile. Game. Market. Almost every game they make or are making are mobile game in nature but are designed for pc and console. Also they force data collection likely Korean laws don't force games to make it optional so you have to agree to data collection. Now is data collection new? No and hell it's not even really a problem the problem is they're forcing it which shows they will trade anything for a quick buck in this case any small good will they gain from any "Sorry" they do.
Nexon isn't a friend they rely on good will to survive because every game they make scammers.
Lemme tell you something about running a business. If you run a business of any sorts, you rely on the customer being interested in actually buying/renting your product. If the experience is -blam!-, the customers go away to the competition. So, it is in your very own best interest as a business man to run your business in a way that doesn't feel -blam!-. Almost every week by now Bungie has to do maintenance for the servers. We used to have maintenance maybe once every 3 months a few years ago, especially during the Destiny 1 life-cycle when Bungie was completely focused on Console still and updates need to be verified by the platform services of Xbox and PSN, which meant they would have to wait for approval and had as a result more time to optimize their game. The only time Destiny 1 had serious in-game performance issues was when Wrath of the Machine came out and the Flames of the Wall-Encounter with the Siege Engine caused major FPS drops below 30FPS. We used to get quality. These days we get sometimes quality and mostly just quantity. Especially quantity with Maintenance extensions and log-in queues almost every 2nd week after an update, followed with major error code issues sometimes. And don't forget how often Telesto broke the game too because of the very weird spaghetti coding of this game. If you think Bungie is running "a good product service", you are mistaken. The shop is full of transmogs that mostly look better than freaking DLC raid armor. Hundrets of Ghosts, Ships, Sparrows... When was the last time several ships, sparrows and ghost shells were added in a DLC to earn by just playing? Or look at PvP. Still has a major cheating problem on PC. Bugs are discovered on a weekly basis now after every hotfix. This game is a mess. It doesn't matter if Nexon Games or other Korean studios are "mobile game scammers". That's not the point. The point is, that Destiny 2 suffers a lot from quality drops. And others and I are just sick of just taking it without criticizing. I still know of bugs of model issues I reported 3-5 years ago. They are STILL ingame. I can STILL see them. They are super easy to fix yet no one could bother to fix them in 10-30 minutes in a 3D Software by fixing the character rigg connections or slightly moving the character model mesh a few centimeters. If a company can't be bothered to spend that little time to fix visual bugs, then I have actually no trust in their capabilities anymore.
