More players in pvp?
Hard to do that when the elite refuse any system to ever play against equal or similar skill.
Johnny casuals don't stay for beatdowns.

Bet you would leave within a heartbeat when a teleporting shotgunner is on the field and you waited 10 minutes in que for that. Heck I am average. I shouldn't even have a terrible experience with lag. Long and behold, 5 matches a day, made me hate sbmm for the rest of my life Even a thriving pvp game like cod is terrible for me to play. And I am not even good Once you experienced this on a daily basis, come back okay? See you champ

I have a sneaking suspicion that your internet connection is at fault here, do the Ookla test and check your packet loss too, it should be at 0%. Besides that, I think bringing more people to PvP would help with your situation too, if more people closer to you would play then the connectivity issues would also improve, no?

I have no issues in any other part in destiny except crucible. Where I am facing people from the west coast back in the day because that was my "Best" sbmm match up. Match was borderline unplayable. If sbmm won't bring people back, then clearly nothing else will. Where are all the players who enjoyed sbmm when it was brought forth? Why was it reverted if the population was "Good"? These are the critical questions nobody dares to ask it seems

your upload and download speed are not the issue however, your ping and your packet loss could be significant to cause your issues. The ping to your local server should be less than 20ms. if its over 100ms, you will visually see lag. Packet loss of anything over 0% is just bad and will eff you up constantly.

No problems with connection beyond the outlier D1 or D2. However... D1 matchmaking is objectively more functional than D2 right now. Matches of higher quality, similiar wait times and amounts of latency. Give people a choice, I say. Regardless of how we feel, data driven analytics will drive the choice at bungie eventually.

Or maybe Bungie should’ve just invested in dedicated servers with all the extra monetization.

This is actually on point. Go back to old cods & mm is very fast, almost no sbmm, try the new ones & it's long wait times & lag. That being said, destiny is the same for me either way, sbmm or no sbmm, always weird laggy teleporting people from across the globe. I've always thought the issue is there's too much going on in the game for it to ever be stable, & the recommended upload required is 5mb, compared to 0.5/1mb in other online shooters. A simple Google search shows most internet doesn't give 5mb upload, I think UK only has 3% fibre coverage & it's 1 of the better countries for internet infrastructure. There's no region lock, no minimum connection requirements, WiFi warriors, people deliberately throttling their speeds, fireteans causing lag, im amazed it works at all tbh

Played a few matches of clash over the weekend (no sbmm) and I’ve gotten matched against 1% players, guess what ? My team didn’t stand a chance. Score board hits and these guys got over 50% of the kills on there team, constant 3 taps with Luna’s or 2 taps with mag howl, was like there wasn’t anyone else on there team, just constantly running into them, no matter the flank or positioning. Hitting all your headshots? No good they can just 3 tap you. Wasn’t exactly fun lol

Saturday night clash was really fun, I needed pulse kills, EVERY single player was a handcannon user who hid when shot & never missed. Horrible experience. I checked the meta, 10 of the top 15 guns are hand cannons, 3 shotguns & 2 heavy GLs. It's right back to Luna's howl not forgotten feeling once again, I'm done
